iOS 7 is by far the ugliest OS in the history of Apple and android. #Fact

Nothing else even comes close.

yeah i kind of agree on this one. what i liked about iOS was the full spectrum of colors that was in every little detail, even the app icons. it made colors pop.

iOS 7 color scheme seems to be an attempt by Apple to fit into the "retro" style craze now that blanketing everything from clothing, to kitchen remodeling, to even vehicle styling. problem is, Apple's selection of the pastel color scheme resulted in a distasteful clash of colors for many (not all, but many), that required adjustment coming from a previous version of iOS. it's not something that should have been forced on people, but rather something that could have been toggled off. why couldn't Apple allow people to change the interface themes like you could do on Blackberry? when i had a Blackberry many years ago, i could change everything about the interface. i never saw a need to change the iOS interface until iOS 7 rolled around to be honest.

it makes me wonder if anyone at Apple even as so much as had 1 focus group to get customer feedback on it. if they performed a focus group properly, they would have seen the complaints as their focus group should have been set up to be a sampling of the different populations who would purchase and use the products.

IMO, someone dropped the ball

I disagree, but iOS preference is personal. Agree that it will take some time to get used to, but iOS 7 is both more functional and easier to use than iOS 6 - for me.

I also like the layering effect that it has introduced, it makes it easier to see "where you are" within the OS, harder to get lost.

I also enjoy the flat icons and happy to see the skeuomorphism gone!

The iPad needs its own OS apart from the iPhone. Apart from inter-app audio and support for game controllers, iOS7 is a colorful TURD :):D:p:eek::( with prehistoric multitasking and file management.

Not sure how you could see the colors considering you live on THE SUN, not to mention every device would vaporize instantly.

I couldn't agree less with this thread. I think IOS 7 really shines on the iPad Air. It's a much bigger improvement than I noticed on my iPhone 5. I'm not saying it's perfect because it does have some issues which will hopefully get fixed in 7.1. However I personally think IOS 7 looks great on an iPad Air.

ios vista

I do not think my op was a troll as acknowledged positives about the ip air redesign. Nor do I think my post was redundant of other ios7 rants as I was specifically going to the issue of how much it affects one's ones impression of new hardware.

Finally, I do not think ios7 will be long lived graphically or functionally. The ipad will need to incorporate true multitasking soon--which will provide an impeutus for all sorts of ios refactoring. In terms of design--ios7 will likely give way to a simpler but more customisable experience.

Went to the apple store to check out the new ipad. Before I could form an opinion of the ipad air--my attention was diverted by how cheap looking ios7 looked on the ipad. Everything is so big and clunky. I also noted that some screen animations skipped frames--even with the A7. Overall, the new ipad is impressively light and the new mini like bezel proportions are a huge improvement.

But I didn't buy it. I just felt the look of the os was "yech"--not touch-wiz "yech", but equally offputting in its own way. C'mon apple--your better than this.

It's iOS 7 in general. It looks good,
But feels like crap. Complete crap.

I watched my friends iphone 5s do the same low FPS animations that my iphone 5 does. Rotate screen with keyboard open, crap!

I seriously doubt Apple expects this to be final...IOS was so smooth before, I have faith it will be smoothed out soon. If not? Nexus 5 looks good.

You just dated yourself with that comment.

I had the chance of using iOS 7 on the new iPad Air at the Apple Store. I still strongly prefer iOS 7 to iOS 6 in every way, but I do think that iOS 7 is basically just a scaled up version of iOS 7 on the iPhone. For example, app switching can be really cumbersome on the iPad because it doesn't show very many apps on the screen at one time to close, and the icons are huge, making it difficult to do a two finger swipe gesture.

I think that Apple could do a lot with the iPad and make it functional enough to attract more people, like me, and I'm hoping big changes are made in the next iteration of iOS.
