Fall = Fail ;) Seriously - why the long wait unless there are things in 4.0 that coincide with a hardware change in the iPad...

Will be so worth it though. I imagine the iPad can handle a lot more than the 3GS can. That was a good keynote, lots of things to think about.

I'm one of those not too fussed by lack of 3rd party multitasking and can make do without it. But since we're getting it, I can see me using the iPad for more tasks than before. Flicking between Pages and Safari for example, without actually having to save your document and close Pages, will be great.

    Game Kit sounds awesome.

Yeah, that blows. At least it will be out for the iPhone this summer. But it seems more useful for the iPad

It certainly has nothing with giving developers time to you know.... Develop. Definitely not that.

    I don't mind waiting.

    I love the new addition.

    But no ui update.

I mean the htc, with the animated stuff looks very nice, guess im exchanging from apple to htc for the first time, since 3g dont get multitasking anyways.

    oh well

Let me elaborate why I think this is a (short term) fail.

Quite simply - the iPhone is less of a productivity device than the iPad. So while it's great that we will be getting 4.0 on the iphone - the ability to multitask and have the upgraded email app alone is reason enough to launch it on the iPad at the same time.

How are early adopters getting the shaft when they are getting the upgrade the same time as every other iPad user?

That sucks! Oh well at least we know were getting it. Just don't understand why it can't be released at the same time. Maybe they want people to purchase a new iPhone before they purchase an iPad?

So people are mad that a product that was JUST released not more than a week ago won't have updated software for another 5 months???

I understand they are talking about some neat and necessary additions, but IT JUST CAME OUT! :p
