I'm going to take every rumor posted by that very punchable face with a massive grain of salt.

So, to organize my thoughts:

  • The camera array looks super weird without the "bump" or surround - but maybe that's just because we're used to it. Doesn't Apple currently "bump" the cameras out because of the tech behind it (sensors, lenses, stabilizers, etc.)? I don't suspect any of that would go away any time soon.
  • Does it make sense to thin the phone, too, having added (supposedly) more features, when historically the iPhones of late have been getting thicker to account for larger batteries? Without much news of battery tech changing drastically and pushing out to consumer tech, it doesn't seem likely we'll see a significantly thinner phone soon.
  • And would the microSIM not be fully eSIM-ified next year? Feels like we're moving towards that.
  • Last item, why change the shape of the volume buttons to be (subjectively) harder to press (smaller), just to throw back to the iPhone 4? I don't see that one coming to fruition, sorry.
SO many questions.

Those are not photos of the actual device.. They are guesses at best
Whoops. Yes, renders ;)

Looks marvelous. If true, it will be a stellar upgrade. The best of the best.
It’s a work of art, I need this right now ?????

Remember lining up for the iPhone 4 at my local apple store at 4am ? line was 500m long, if not longer ?‍♂️? never again ? still remember opening that box, was like a fine piece of jewellery, one of my favourite iPhone designs.

This has iPhone 4 vibes written all over it ???

Over here
I guess I was right to pass on the 13 and keep our 11's. Not like I trust Prosser but it really would be the phone I would not hesitate to upgrade for.

I am so tired of waiting for something like this. It's always wait 'til next year ... like the Chicago Cubs.

Or you could upgrade this year and next year. ???

Me too the line for the iPhone 4 was the craziest product launch I ever been too. I didn't have a pre order and stood in line from like 4 or 5 AM to 6PM EST at the Apple Store in a local mall. The apple store employees did give us breakfast, lunch, and dinner while in line. I did get the phone but was beyond tired. But did bond with the people in line with me. We were all like friends/ family be the end of the experience it seemed lol.

To make it worse, I ran a red light camera by accident on the way there. 🤦‍♂️😂 had to add a extra $300 dollars because of the fine 🤦‍♂️

This is almost comical. We don't even know what the 12s/13 will be for sure, and some are making predictions about the 14, seriously?!?! I'm perplexed and amused all at the same time!
That, plus if the last 3 years' phones had flush cams, holepunch selfie cutouts and speaker screens, everyone would now be oooo'ing and ahhhh'ing if the 14 had protruding lenses, drilled holes and a bigass notch...

Point being exactly? 🤔 it’s called a tech forum, would you rather us discuss what color underwear we’re wearing? 🤦‍♂️😂

The negativity around here sometimes is cringe worthy.

Interesting the Twitter post above references flexible OLED screens in 2022 - for what purpose, I wonder. All we've seen from Apple is patents so far, and Sammy's models seem to be either 1. issue-prone, even after multiple iterations, and 2. expensive. People complain enough about the price of an iPhone! ? We'll see a "headset" or glasses before we see foldable iPhones, I suspect. (And I realize Ross is some sort of display industry guru, but it's Apple. They crazy.)

Problem is getting enough supply for the panels and other hardware they need, they ain’t shipping 10 million phones like Samsung, we’re talking 60-70 million units, this year will be 100 million units.

Demand is to high for these manufactures to keep up with the high quantity of parts that apple needs.

explains the being 1-2 years behind.

If the phone looks like that, the price is going to go way up. Think $1400-$1700 for the 14 Pro Max up. I mean we already know that costs have been increasing for Apple and they have resisted the urge to increase prices but TSMC is quoting 20% higher prices, raw materials are up by double digits, labor costs are rising… If Apple does a total redesign like this rather than an iterative one, prices will go up just based on the perceived value of the new design too.

Doubt it, these screens, 120hz, and punch hole design have been around for a while now, we didn’t see a price hike with the re design iPhone 12 series.

Most of the tech in these upcoming phones have been around for a while now.

Not expecting a price increase.
