What shortages. I just went to apple.com and they have iphone 6 for store pickup. Best Buy has lots of them. How are you need getting an iPhone 6? Are you waiting for it to show up at a verizon store in a very small town?

I'm trying to get a 6+at an apple store, iPhone 6 are a dime a dozen

Eh, I don't like scalpers and what they do, but I don't get mad. I look at the bigger picture. If they have to scalp cell phones to make money, they probably have a ****** life.

I think you have to blame Apple for this. Why not come out with the phone in these other countries during launch? If Apple didn't want this to happen then they would launch it in all countries at launch. Also, why are supplies always so constrained at the beginning every year?

I'll admit it. I'm a "scalper" and I'm white. I really wanted the iPhone 6 plus and reserved 2. One for me and one to sell on CL to help me pay for my 6+. Made a few bucks like I do every year.

Ya but do you go through the line multiple times during a day? thats the problem

I really do not understand why people are in line still, I have walked into Best Buy to grab as many iPhone 6 is I wanted with no waiting and no lines. Just request the Verizon model, pay, walk out. It has never taken longer than five minutes for me.

Take out the Verizon Sim card before you turn it on though, works great with AT&T LTE and sims from Japan and Korea etc.

Best buys charges an additional $50 and I am guessing she is looking for a Plus model.

The iphone 6 regular can be found almost everywhere as a walkin from all the places I went to.

Because they can only produce so many in a certain time frame...

If Apple allows it, I could. I just don't have the time for it. I'm sure the phone is being traded off and sold in countries where it isn't available yet. Is that so wrong? I don't blame these people, I only blame Apple. I would want it early if it wasn't released in my country.

I'm in Japan btw, and I wouldn't like people saying all these white people are buying the phone and they can't get theirs because of all the foreigners. There are a lot of Chinese buying the phone here too and sending them over to China for people who want to pay the much higher price of getting it before it's released. This is what not having enough supply and not releasing it in all countries does. That's the issue.

It's called planning ahead based on past performance and future predictions. They need to start producing earlier, release it later, or ramp up production more than they have in the first few months of release. I'm not too sure this isn't planned for marketing purposes as well. The free publicity Apple gets from the news reporting on people paying huge amounts on ebay and the line at the stores everyday, etc might be what they want. It's never been: iPhone comes out, everyone gets it, and everyone is happy. It's always: iPhone comes out, sells for a lot of money on ebay/craigslist etc, lines day after day, huge backorders, etc. It's basic marketing too... it makes you think everyone wants the phone because of the backorders, lines, etc and makes you think you need it too.

OP here. First of all, I never once cited the nationality or race of the scalpers. Did not put faces into any of the photos. Perhaps those calling me a racist or a xenophobe need to look in the mirror. I even expressed empathy to the pregnant women having to go on line over five times.

As for taking pictures being creepy, if you do something absurd and untoward in a very public place then you have no right to privacy. I'm sorry. If I run around naked in Times Square, I can't expect passerby to not take my photo as fun as it may or may not be. I was patiently waiting for the Apple specialist to hand me my phone but he was bouncing around activating nearly a dozen phone for this crew. When I made a comment, he just rolled this eyes and said he's just doing his job. In other words, Apple has a policy of just sell these $800 boxes and **** because they have shareholders to answer to. The only point of my post was that although I heard stories of scalpers eating up the supply, this was my first hand experience. Though these folks are doing nothing illegal, seems a touch unfair.

I went to the Apple Store in Long Island yesterday and was still surprised to see a line out there...

Exactly what where you referring to when you said "As I wait for my phone another group from same continent is purchasing two iPhones with cash. "

Which continent were you referring to? Yea keep telling yourself that you are not but your comments and creepy photos say different.

They were not American and did not speak English. Other than that I have no insight as to their origin. But they were coordinated / organized which was the point.

How exactly did you know they were not American? Did you ask them or did you just assume since they were not like you that they had to be non-Americans?

Used non-US passports for identification. In any case, you have a clear bias in this debate. I won't win regardless of the facts and irrespective of logic. Happy to agree to disagree so hopefully you can ignore this thread since it is upsetting to you. Have a nice evening.

So you follow the whole group around, check out what they are all buying, take their pictures, look at all their ID's. That is really just like a stalker. You really need help fast.

I still vote for ID scans that go into a database so you can't purchase more than 2 per month after a launch

Why? You do realize that money is money to Apple, right?

How? Is he not waiting like everyone else? Is his money not good after that first or second time?
