I call BS. I get two to three dropped calls every single day driving from San Francisco to the Penninsula.

I haven't had any dropped calls, but I live in the UK with good coverage. If people are going to complain about anything, it should be over the lingering exclusivity arrangement in the US which, to the rest of us, looks absolutely ridiculous.

If you had the phone on a choice of networks, I daresay there wouldn't be anywhere near as many complaints because people would choose the network with the best coverage for him/her. Your country has the misfortune of being geographically large with huge areas of low population density... ergo some people are always going to have issues until networks see it as profitable to extend good coverage to an extra dozen people in a tiny village.

My dad has a BBerry for work and a iP4 for himself. We live in England so it's not on Verizon. Still the same principle though.

The exclusivity arrangement is really a red herring. Unlike the rest of the world, the US cell infrastructure is very fragmented. Even If iPhone was an unlocked device, it would hardly make a difference since the only other sizable GSM provider in the is T-Mobile, and in their coverage is less then AT&T.
Apple would need to produce separate hardware for each carrier, which is a significantly different proposition.

tell the greenies and the communists there to allow AT&T to put up cell towers instead of complaining how it would ruin the view
