Wozniak won't buy the iPhone X on Day 1

To put this in perspective.

Woz is a very talented fellow. He's no longer with Apple, so he has no idea about the X, and no more than anyone here. He's skeptical about the face ID. But his skepticism seems rational, whereas this forum can't really make that claim, can it? :D

Wozniack shares the same skepticism that some have about Face ID, because they're unsure of technology they don't have any first-hand experience with. It's not to say that he won't purchase this iPhone, but that shouldn't be influential for somebody that's not affiliated anymore with Apple.

Watch Halt and Catch fire on amazon prime. Amazing TV show and will give you an idea just how important people like Woz were to the modern age. The show is a work of fiction but based on the real stories of how the tech world became.

You will also see some major bits of Jobs in Joe McMillan

true. but technical guy or not, i bet he's not running out to buy the latest macbook pro every year despite the huge technical improvements. I think the iPhone is getting to that point of a product's life cycle.

the iPhone x is trying to break that mold, but he seems to not be buying it. whatever. i can see both views.

I agree. I myself am always interested in changes that occur year to year, but have believed for a while that iPhone is slowly becoming like other products, MacBook or iPad, where for many people it should last ~3 years before really needing an upgrade.

X definitely changes that - but I bet we’ll see the same design, or very close to it, for many years to come.

Actually "no"

He gives his reason in that same article, but you omitted it in your copy/paste

"But Wozniak also said he was skeptical that the Face ID feature would work the way it is supposed to"

His mention of the iPhone 8 is just and observation of how the design has not changed in all those years.

Updated OP to include full article.
