So I got both a Wrapsol and a Speck black satin :p

Wrapsol stays on, so when I'm using it normally around the house and at work. Additional Speck hard case for when I'm flying (at least once a month).

Additionally the wrapsol should protect against the potential scratches the Speck case can make when dust/particles get stuck between the case and the computer.

Saw a post somewhere with someone else doing this, so I know they both fit.

I just installed my wrapsol yesterday on my 2010 MBP HiRes AG and it is perfect. Amazon packing stinks, the first one came damaged and the second came with one of the fluid containers empty. Amazon customer service was outstanding as usual and they sent a second wrapsol out overnight for free.

If you run low on solution you can put one drop of dish detergent (Dawn) into a cup of water and you are good to go. I also keep the cup of solution close by to keep my fingers moist when removing the backing from the protectors. In the end, I only needed the one bottle of solution for the full install.

The only thing to watch is when applying the top cover do not try and get the fit on the 4 corners of the lid right out of the gate. Align the corners and leave a few millimeters of space so when you start working the bubbles out you will not wind up with one or more of the edges hanging over. If this happens just wait until you have it fit to your liking and take the palm of you hand and gently apply pressure as if to pull the material back away from the corner on an angle just to the side of the corner you are working on (in the direction of the Apple Logo in the center). if you apply to much pressure you will lift and or stretch the wrapsol and not be in good shape.

This also applies to the edges, leave a little space at first and then work your way around the edges using the palm of your hand to gently bring the wrapsol close to the leading edge of the lid. This technique also applies to the wrist rest protector.

This is the best protector I have ever used! Better then BSE and Zagg IMO. The matte finish looks flawless and it is hard to tell it is even on when directly looking at the MBP.

Take your time and know that if you really mess the application up, just gently take it off, reapply solution, let the excess drip off and start over. Just dont pull to hard or you will stretch the material and have to toss it in the trash.

Total install time was 40 minutes for the entire application.

I opted not to install the trackpad protector. I ordered up the powersupport trackpad film, which is on its way.

you can get this just for the palm area? i dont need it anywhere else since i already have a speck satin on mine 24/7. does the corners of the skin on the palm rest catch alot of dirt? im just looking to protect the palm rest area as much as possible
thanks

Most likely not. You can probably just buy the whole package and only use it on the desired regions though. Save the rest for later when you actually want it.

Maybe the 13" is better than the 17" - which I find to be absolute garbage. Cuts were WAY off on every piece, to the point I just kept the palmrest part (even though it's still cut wrong, it's better than nothing) and trashed the other two.

Wrapsol is $30 on Amazon or at Fry's. I love BSE, but it's not the same thing as Wrapsol - BSE is grippy, shiny, and has an orange peel look to it. This is matte and mimicks the look of the aluminum. It's very different - I've used both.

$30 isnt so bad i guess. im just looking to get something for the palm. how would the heat affect this skin though. i would think it would eventually peel from the corners due to the heat

I found the Wrapsol for 13" MBP on amazon for $28.57 a piece and shipping is around $11. My question is - when you order this product from Amazon, does it come with all of the extras like the microfiber cloth, application, fluid, etc?

Yes it does - and be aware of the fluid leaking and soaking the box (it's just soap and water, but still)

Yeah mine got totally crushed. The glass bottle inside was broken and everything was soaked. Amazon's amazing CS was great though :).

ordered two of them through amazon..it says it should ship by middle of the week..prob have it by the end of the week or early next week...hopefully no scratches before then, haha
