I forgot all about that. I took the screen skin off. It is like BSE but it's a little too thick. It offers great protection but I just found it too thick. Like when you press the home button you could really feel the extra depth it created.

Plus my armband has a tendency to stick to the screen and this would have made it worse.

Still clear and the orange peel was very minimal, just a very thick screen skin. I would say it felt like 2 BSE fronts stuck together.

There very well may be a reason they went thick, not really sure why. The micro fiber they include is also very nice.

Well, I applied the wrapsol (back only) earlier tonight. I previously had a BSE simple back.. The wrapsol was much more difficult (for me) to apply than the BSE--understandable since it wraps over the sides a bit...

I had to peel it off & re-spray about 5 minutes in as I noticed one side seemed to be cut too big (it draped over the bezel; the camera hole was aligned properly). I thought I was gonna have to peel it off & throw away, but I kept at it, and it just seemed to "massage" itself into place--for the most part.

I love the texture of the skin, and the matte look. The problem I see developing is that there are several spots at the edges where the film appears, well, "ratty"/""ragged". Looks like the skin won't hold up well after putting in & talking out from my pocket for a period of time. But, we'll see, I guess.

All in all, I "like" the wrapsol, but I question durability given how the edges don't look clean merely a couple hours after application.

If I could find a clear case that didn't scratch easily, didn't scratch my iphone, covered the bezel at least partially & isn't any bulkier than the Griffin Reveal, I'd definitely buy it. Too bad such a case doesn't exist...can't understand how such a case can't seem to be made. Even though I hate the looks of them, I may break my vow & get a Speck candy shell (black) since it seems to meet most of my prerequisites (too bad it's not clear); though I like their idea of inner rails (or whatever they use) to prevent scratching the phone itself.

Sounds like you either got a bad skin or botched the install. My edges are totally flush and aren't going anywhere. The entire back looks flawless actually. Something is up with what you have going on because this skin is on for good on my phone as it has been for those who have reviewed it

I'd call Wrapsol but it sort of sounds like a so so install especially since you had to peel it up a few times. But that still shouldn't matter. Mine was perfect in abot 10 minutes after setting but they do say to wait 24 hours for best results. I have had mine in my pocket and wedged in my armband and the wrapsol doesn't budge and is perfectly flush down both sides.

That's how it should look. After installing countless skins and using all different skins, I know for a fact this stuff isn't coming up.

They really left those two bottom edges ...that makes me tempt to try it

So far I've tried Zagg and BSE back (not the simple one) both will just attract dust in the long run especially on the edges no matter how perfect you've installed it.

Do you think this skin will NOT collect dust too much?

Let me tell you something, in all honestly, you will get practically no dust at all with this skin. I'm serious. I know the dust, I love BSE but the material is tacky so naturally it collects a bit of dust after a while. I would do a clean on my phone pretty much every day at work with a moist wipe. No big deal, I never had a problem with peeling but it's still dust buildup and annoying.

This stuff is the complete opposite, I have had it in my pocket for 2 days all day at work and no dust whatsoever. It repels it almost, and 100% repels finger prints. Normally skins collect the most right after install, this was good to go after about 10-15 minutes

And like I said before, I put this stuff in my armband the day I put it on, and it takes a good tug to get my phone out of the armband. This material is flat all around and stuck damn good.

I am so impressed Wrapsol stuff. I'd like to see them redesign it without the corners but with enough extension to reach and cover the bezel. The matte feeling never gets old. It's not a marshmallow type matte either like the matte Incase slider, feels very nice. If you're anything like me you will not want to put this phone in a case after you feel this stuff.

Ferris23, once again, thanks for your response. Greatly appreciate it.
You're becoming like my shepherd for the perfect case/skin set-up hunt :p

No prob.

:)

I found my solution for a while, my swiss army pouch and this skin, then the armband for the gym.

Appreciate the pics, thanks! The way it was cut looks like it will make the dust less to collect.

Do you have a Reveal by any chance Ferris? Does it really leave NO watermarks with this skin on it?

Well, 24 hours after install, the wrapsol seems to have "cured" very nicely. In my last post, I expressed doubts as to longevity of this skin a/c rough edges, but they seem to have "laid down" over the past 24 hours. I agree with ferris--the matte feel of this skin kicks ass!! As I posted in the Griffin Reveal thread, wrapsol on my 3G S + Reveal + BSE simple back on the Reveal is gonna be what I run with (assuming Griffin ever ships the damn Reveal to me!!!).

I wait with interest to see how the wrapsol holds up over time, but I cna say that after only 24 hours, it looks promising. I wish I had a camera so I could post pics like ferris (only "camera" I have is my 3G S, and my 2G iPhone is currently on loan to someone).

Will definitely get it if it covers the bezel.
From the looks of it, I'm pretty sure that it doesn't pick dirt up as easily as IS,BG,BSE.
Love the matt look, will match up well with my PS Anti-Glare.

That looks awesome. Is it reusable? I ordered one off buy.com, but I'm scared to put it on my 3G in case I end up upgrading to a 3GS.

i just ordered one yesterday from wrapsol directly for my 3Gs & 13" MBP...i really like that look but I highly doubt they are reusable...they have a lifetime warranty like the Zagg IS so you probably just pay shipping for a new one if you have to remove it.

As luck would have it my phone is screwed up and I have a replacement on the way, thankfully Wrapsol is sending me a replacement back.

For all the Canadians that are interested, I contacted Wrapsol in regard to their crazy shipping rates to Canada and this is what I got back from them:

"we will be adding a new option to shipping next week. please check back on the price after wednesday. thx."

Do you think the Solo FX will stain the Wrapsol? I like the Solo FX, but it made me sad it stained Rayfire's BSE.

It is indeed sad since I was looking forward to the same setup of skin+Solo FX combo but it stained. Here's what I've got from BSE when I told them about the staining issues:
Hello Rayfire,

We have been told that unstable dyes, like that of some cases and jeans, may stain the material. Not all cases will discolor the skin. The skin material is gas permeable which lets the air and solution evaporate but when in contact with these unstable types of dyes, may transfer their color to it. We don't know of any skin material that is not gas permeable; it has to be otherwise the air and solution wouldn't evaporate.

Thank you and best regards,

Sherry T.

So according to her answer, if the skin material is gas permeable then gets mixed up with an unstable dye - color transfer is highly possible. I don't know yet if this is the same with Wrapsol, can anyone comment on the skin+case(i.e. Wrapsol+SoloFX) setup combo?

I'm no expert, but it seems like all of the popular brands of skins are gas permeable-- how else would they dry after you apply them with soapy water? A skin that isn't gas permeable seems like it would be more of a sticker. Like Gelaskins.

So, I'm going to guess that the Wrapsol IS gas permeable and will probably get stained. I really really want someone to prove me wrong though.

Like others, I'm impressed by the overall package and presentation. However, I dropped the bottle while my hands were wet and it shattered so I couldn't complete the install. After work later I'm gonna go pick up some eye glass cleaner and try it again. I hope this works out, because I think it would look great with my brushed bezel, and anti glare screen.

Whoa wait!

The solution is nothing more than a tiny drop of dish soap and water. Just fill a bowl and dip the skin in.
