I’ve had the AWU since launch, and no temperature at all 🤷🏻‍♂️ I use the sleep schedule and alarm ⏰ every day.
That’s odd!

I had the same problem. You have to turn on sleep focus. It’s a function that turns your watch face off and mutes your phone. Go to Settings, Focus, Focus Status - turn it on.

Yes. But, that’s just a function of sleep tracking. Not a function of sleep focus. Mine is set for 11:30 - 7:00am. It seems to recognize when I go to bed late and doesn’t record anything until I settle in. I think it’s tied to phone movement also. But it does not track sleep past 7am as far as I can tell.
Correction - I slept in today and it did track some sleep past my sleep schedule. Not very well, because I slept in about an hour but it only recorded about ten minutes. Though it did go past my sleep schedule time.

Got my temp readings today. Thanks for the help!
You can be on sleep tracking and not have sleep focus set, which is why your not getting any wrist temp data.

You need to click on the focus setting and go to sleep setting and then set a time range for when you expect to sleep. It is a little cumbersome, but once you turn it on, and you sleep one night, you will see under health on your iPhone that it says 4 days to go and so on. Changed the setting yesterday after figuring it out, and now it says 4 days to go so it will eventually get enough data.

Thanks - i expect it to work now👍🏼

Do you have to tap “lights off” for it to start tracking sleep? If not, do you know the point of that feature?

Autosleep will record sleep at ANYTIME, with no user intervention, including naps. I find it very accurate at capturing accurate sleep or nap start and end times. That said independent tests show it isn't nearly as good at telling what TYPE of sleep (deep, REM, light etc.) you are getting vs. Apple's native sleep tracking.

I have switched to Apple's native sleep tracking but I'm super frustrated by its limitations. In my experience it WILL track outside of your preset Sleep Focus window but ONLY if the sleep extends INTO the window. For example if sleep focus is set to kick in at 11pm but you fall asleep at 10:30 and that continues INTO the 11pm window... it tracks it all. If your sleep tracking ends at 7am but you sleep in till 8:30... it tracks it all. HOWEVER yesterday I feel asleep in bed very early at 7pm and slept till 10:30, I then woke and was awake till 12am but because the 3:30 hours of "sleep/nap" were NOT in the window it didn't track it at all. That's really unacceptable. Fitbit, Whoop, Oura all track sleep with NO user intervention, the fact Apple doesn't is very disappointing after 3+ years of various versions of native sleep tracking.

Autosleep WILL use the Apple Watch data and fixes this, it just is only accurate at tracking total sleep, but I think that's far more important to me than how much REM etc. You can continue using Apple's built in sleep focus windows to get your phone / watch to automatically shift to sleep mode at night (to darken the screen etc.) but there is an option to turn OFF the tracking, which then allows Autosleep to handle the tracking of the actual sleep for Apple Health etc.

I am having the same issue. My focus track is on, Body tempature is on, I have sleep schedule, and had the watch for over a week now, and i still don't have body temperatures. I even have a case with Apple Support, but i figured that it would be helpful to post here. Any thoughts on what can work, or what screenshots I can provider to make sure I am doing it correctly?

I feel you pain. Apple touted TEMPERATURE.....temperatue. Shouldn't it be easier to just see my body (wrist) temperature without going through all these hoops to see a simple simple simple temperature.

You just see the delta and not the absolute temperature which is only useful for less acute changes in body temperature.

On the page you screenshot, if you go down and hit “show all data”, it will take you to a screen where you can see each day’s temp. However, I agree with fdw777, in that you should be able to just get a temp reading on demand. And, I don’t understand why sleep focus has to be on to get it to record your temp overnight. Nothing like a nanny.

Cool, didn’t know that. Yes, it shows the exact temperature but it is convoluted to get to. The Health app in general is not the most user friendly.

I believe the idea is to take temperatures only while you are asleep, because if you take it while you are awake and active, the temperature will vary too much to get a base reading. So Apple is using sleep focus being on as a proxy for you being asleep, instead of checking through analysis of body movements / heart rates whether you are asleep.

So this isn’t going to tell me I have a fever? Not sure what this figure the watch is showing me means. Anyone?
I mean why not just say here’s your temp…you’re higher or lower!!? The nonsense you have to decipher with this sleep tracking, temp, etc!

All it tells you is if your base body temperature changed from its normal temperature over a period of time.

Because the temperature reading is not valid, and therefore meaningless.

The only thing that is meaningful is the adjusted temperature variation under certain limited conditions, like sleeping.

I expect there is a proprietary empirical transfer function involved to derive the temperature variations from baseline based on the time-dependent readings from the two temperature sensors.

Only shows one daily measurement for me; right before my alarm goes off each morning.

Same problem here. I have sleep focus on and a schedule set: I went through all the settings referenced and after 2 weeks still shows no data. I did discover one more setting that may affect this- but I’m unsure. “Use sleep schedule for Sleep Focus” was off. Don’t know if this is the problem-

Update: it was the problem

See post #29 above and see if that works.

My sleep focus is on. And I have to agree with poster fdw777- this is rather convoluted. Why not just have take temp at night or no switch. That’s it.

Not sure if this is the final thing you need to do, but per your question above, yes, my “Use Schedule for Sleep Focus” is set to ”On”.

Hi, I'm running into the same problem... I've done everything Apple's website regarding wrist temperature states should be done, that is; having the Sleep focus enabled with a schedule for every day of the week, I now have over 20 days of sleep tracking, I have wrist temperature tracking enabled in the Watch app's Privacy setting.
Post #46 mentions "Use sleep schedule for Sleep Focus". I have that enabled.

For the love of it, I cannot, I just CANNOT figure out what the problem is. Wrist temperature just keeps spouting "Available after 5 more nights"...
