Just dropped off my Apple Watch last night to the apple store for repair. Hopefully they cover it under warranty as it is only 6 months old. The issue with the screen being unresponsive after swimming escalated into other problems where the screen would no longer dim and there seemed to be phantom touches occurring such that the watch would start randomly doing things like calling people.

Well that does give a whole new definition to pocket dialing... no wrist dialing... I suspect Siri !!!

My AW6 is doing okay and I use it 5 mornings a week to swim. I will be interested to see how it goes at Apple. I still have AppleCare+ on mine.

Darn it. A lot of bad stories about the S6, the battery, the scratches on screen and now water damage. If Apple rushed anything it’s not the S7, it was the S6.

I have been swimming a lot with my AW5, and no issue. I got AppleCare+ just in case, but over the 2 years nothing happened.

I just checked the status of my watch repair. Looks like they are replacing it after spending 1 minute looking at it.

Seems all of a sudden those water damage threads about S6 started to emerge this year here. I swam with S5 and it was all fine. But the past year I was not able to swim with the S6 due to the pandemic and now I’m already changed to the S7.

I got my new replacement watch a couple weeks ago. So far no issues with swimming. The screen is responsive as soon as I unlock it.
