WSJ thinks that the iPhone 5...

At this point you should ignore every single news release related to the iPhone. All of these "news organizations" are just making **** up to grap page views. No one has any idea right now whether or not there will be a new iPhone released at WWDC. One organization's non-existent source isn't any better than the next non-existent source. Don't fall for it.

Not to be cruel, but it might not be Steve if he is taking care of his health, it might be Tim Cook like it was 2 years ago, but time will tell with whatever happens.
 
AFAIK, I'm happy with my iP4. When my contract with verizon ends, I'll consider moving to 5 or 6 or not moving at all if the world ends by then.
 
didn't Apple release an at&t and verizon version at the same time?

Why wouldn't they do the same for iphone?

from all the rumors i remember reading regarding the ipad, noone expected the ipad2 to come out that quickly after its announcement.

whatever the new iphone is called, its coming out end of June.

I think so too, regardless, WWDC will be an amazing event.
I believe many iPhone-specific owners are waiting for the announcement of an iPhone 5.

I can't wait for iOS 5, OS X 10.7, Revamped Mobile Me as well.
 
I agree that a new iPhone will be released this year..at wwdc? I don't know, i hope so.
Will it be called the iPhone 5? Eh, i tend to think not
Still really exciting, hope they make one with Verizon LTE support

If it were up to me I would call it the iPhone 4g, just so that all the idiots who have been calling the iPhone 4 that this whole time would have to wake up and.....rreckanize

can you imagine the grumbling that will take place if no iphone is announce at wwdc? that would mean at least another 4 month's wait for the next event.

apple would look pretty bad in the press. everyone would go ahead and by an iphone 4, but not the 5 when it comes out. lose-lose for apple.
 
I am struggling with what to do. I still have a 3GS. My wife didn't want an iPhone originally, but now wants one after using mine all the time! We are with AT&T and are eligible to upgrade within the next month. I am trying to decide whether to wait for the iPhone 5 or for the end of our contract in order to switch to Verizon or just go ahead and upgrade with AT&T to two iPhone 4's. I also hate to give up my unlimited data plan, particularly if Verizon eliminates theirs with the iPhone 5. I realize its a gamble either way.

Can you not keep your existing unlimited data? But really, how much do you use

i read something earlier today saying apple is taking the hit of the costs to make sure they get their component parts from japan, since they are hurting on production of pieces after the earthquake tragedy. pretty cool.

unlike the Ipad/tablet market that apple has a tight grip on, the smart phone market is a lot tougher, with androids, wp7, rim and others getting a piece of the pie. can't wait to get an Iphone in June.

and this could very well be why there "could" be no Iphone 5 this year apple likes to surprise people, doesn't mean people will like the surprise :p
 
I agree, it'll happen this June but it'll be named: iPhone 4G. remember You heard it from me.

They cant afford to sit back for over a year selling the same product while Androids, WP7 and even Pre keep coming out with new phones every four days.

It's gonna be a long wait, very long indeed!

The fun part will be reading all the excuses, and reasons the fanboys invent to point the finger at others for the delays.

It's the Apple Way :)
 
It will come out at the end of the year if it is truly a 4G phone for Verzion. My guess is the iPhone 5 will not be a 4G phone. Just another 3G phone with a new OS. The real 4G phone will come out next summer.

Other carriers got the iPhone mid cycle then got the newer iPhone when it came out in the summer. That's what I think will happen with the CDMA iPhones.
