help!im very careful with my iphone X i only set autolock 1 min.i always check everyday for burn in and i did an update to 10.2.1 yesterday and im shock just now wtf.i can clearly see the icons like a shadow on the clock app.btw im using using the black wallpaper.

update:1
i can clearly see the static like shadow icons and i tried to compare it to a normal screenshot withe app icons and it matches perfectly so i think this is a burn in,too bad i dont have another phone that i can use to take picture as ive already give my 7Plus to my gf she is unreachable at the moment vacationing in the philippines.try this wallpaper with 45-50% brightness in dark room guys!!!!

update :2
i change the background wallpaper to a colored one and it faded a little bit so i will advice you guys to stay away from black wallpaper for now.maybe if someone experiment atleast 2 days of solid black wallpaper and report back?

update :3 12/17/17
after couple days it was gone someone mention in this thread that it was just image retention just like the plasma tv and yes he was right.

If your display is burning, you should put out the fire at once and call the police if needed.

Did you update to 11.2.1? How is it related to burn-in?

Yes holiday return policy gives you till January 8th.

Yes holiday return policy gives you till January 8th.

Does this apply to the UK if bought in store?
I bought an iPhone X 13 days ago (2 weeks on Saturday) which was reserved in app and paid but the uk site mentions apple online.

I have used a solid black wallpaper since I got my X 3 weeks ago.
No burn it visible so far.

Did OP really post a screen shot to show burn-in on the display??

Yeah.....that is not how it works.

I’m 99.9% sure you don’t have burn in. It is more likely image retention. Happens on my 2013 plasma tv. It goes away. Just enjoy the darn phone, and stop obsessing. It is under warranty.

Some of you live highly stress-inflicted lives, over you Apple products.

No, they did not. They posted the wallpaper they are using when their burn-in occurs to see if it happens to other with the same wallpaper.

Why, yes, yes he did. Telling, isn't it.
Why no, no he did not.

im just careful with buying expensive gadgets.the reason i saw it in the first place is when i open the clock app.im just gonna return and exchange it anyway due to the gap bet the frame and the screen and annoying dust under the camera lens.im just hoping for a better one

My gosh, the first iPhone with an OLED screen and all the sudden people go crazy with imaginary burn in.

I worked in the cell phone industry for 12 years, used probably over 10 different android phones which have OLED screens, going back to the original Samsung Galaxy phone, and I have NEVER had any kind of screen burn in on any of them.

Sure I have seen screen burn in on display phones at the store, but their brightness is always set at 100% and they are on 24 hours a day.

People need to relax and like betasp said, get some OCD medication.

maybe you need medication man because you dont really care about other people.btw your comment did not help me.dont worry i will return this phone and get another one

Well I'll be the first to admit that I've had had a mild case of OCD for a long time, so I know what's it's like.

And being in the industry for 12 years, I've seen and heard many things from customers over the years, so I can say I pretty much heard it all.

What my point was, although a bit harsh I admit, is that OLED has been around for a long time, and screen burn in is pretty much non existent with regular use, only like I said in my previous post, in stores where the brightness is at 100% and the phone is on all the time would you ever really get burn in.

But go ahead and exchange your phone, maybe you'll have better luck with the replacement.
