Final Countdown reference! Awesome movie. Not related to the thread, but still, awesome movie.

<edit>

Actually, I'm stupid. That's not from Final Countdown, it's Fred Thompson to Alec Baldwin in Hunt For Red October. Another awesome movie.

thank goodness i dont want the hassle of not having a phone to use.probably return this and get another one on the spot but for now ill stick with this and see if it worsen.

Did you buy it from Apple at full retail? No carrier discounts or contracts?

yes paid in full at apple, now im kind of hesitant to return my X im scared of exchanging and get a different defect

I'm not trying to be rude, but judging from the threads you've started, you are not likely to be happy with any particular phone. You're going to find something wrong, or at least something to worry about, with any particular phone.

it was fine yesterday morning so maybe they did not activate the amoled antiburning software

There is no “antiburn-in software” other than the fact that iOS tries to mitigate burn-in issues with auto-lock and auto-brightness. Apple also did hardware optimizations, but I really doubt that burn-in has anything to do with an iOS update. Perhaps you didn’t notice it before?

Do you use maximum brightness for long periods of time?

Cool. Glad it worked out for you.

So, as expected. Fake news.

"im just gonna return and exchange it anyway due to the gap bet the frame and the screen and annoying dust under the camera lens.im just hoping for a better one"

Didn't have actual burn-in (which is a permanent condition on OLED screens).

Didn't return the phone.

Started a thread that worried people for literally, nothing.

thank you!

You are the cause of worry, for no reason, for many people. Who did you help with this fake news thread?

No one.

My gosh, the first iPhone with an OLED screen and all the sudden people go crazy with imaginary burn in.

I worked in the cell phone industry for 12 years, used probably over 10 different android phones which have OLED screens, going back to the original Samsung Galaxy phone, and I have NEVER had any kind of screen burn in on any of them.

Sure I have seen screen burn in on display phones at the store, but their brightness is always set at 100% and they are on 24 hours a day.

People need to relax and like betasp said, get some OCD medication.
My 2xl had burn in 2 hours after owning it. Turned the device off for 1 hour and it was still there, pretty sure that wasn't imaginary when it impacted everything else.
