i looked at the roles again. thanks for the clarification about the morpher, i had misread it. i think it will be fun role to have/play

i think some still need some clarification here some more detailed points/questions:

Dual-nature powers: if done privately, does it acts necessarily at the next deadline, or –if the GG is available-possible- as soon as the GG can post (which could be at the deadline, on occasion, but not necessarily)? I would recommend the latter (even if it is more work for the GG). It gives the user (for example the stretcher/collapser) the possibility (but not certainty) of intervening immediately/soon but stay anonymous.

Blocker: does it include infection? if the target is a WW, does it block all activities of the target (if more than one are at play) or just one of them?

Blocker/Amplifier: does it apply only to the current activity of the target or to the next usage? If it is the next usage, is it only if it is used immediately after, or any later time? If at any later time, does the blocker/amplifier need to be still alive, when the power has its effect?
Some examples:
Amplifier uses his power during the Day on player X.
x is the seer : does it doubles the next scan or is it lost?
X is hunter: does the hunter HAVE to kill two people in this period/next period, or he just gets an extra kill to use at any time he wants
X is die-hard: does he get to survive two lynchings, even if the amplifier dies in the meantime?

Scavenger: I would make more like the kandra in the last game: takes the power at night, but cannot be used that same night. No limit in how many times it can be used.
so s/he can 'sample' different powers and decide whether to stick with one or take their chance for a 'better' one but with some limits. it was one of the things i liked most about the kandra role. also consider that it is very likely that many 1x powers will be used up before the player dies, so the chances are high the scavenger gets an empty power. it is fair s/he gets multiple tries.

Smoker: does he block one player from scanning or protects one target from being scanned? i think it should be the latter, otherwise is too much like the blocker blocker. Also, maybe it should be recurrent, not just one-off (with provision of not smoking same twice in a row). basically the WW equivalent of the guard

Meddler: this should be defined a bit better. Does it provide (once) a fake ID, which is then fed to target of the meddling in place of the real scan result (regardless of their target), or does it protect one specific player with a new ID from whoever scan them? in other words if i am the meddler, do i PM
a) "tell the seer their next scan is a WW, and a die-hard"
b) "tell Moyank their next scan is a WW, and a die-hard" and you tell her whatever applies, if anything to her next action
c) "if plutonius is scanned, he will result as a villager and a thug"
d) i can use any of the above strategies

Werewolf core roles: i would conflate them with exclusive roles, so that village never knows for sure if a role is missing, and makes for more variability. if both kami and alpha are 'core', it leaves almost no room for a wolves to hide

Alpha wolf, should also have one of the general pool powers (but not one of the WW exclusives),
therefore infection is not a 'standard' power per se, but an extra ability. it is not affected by game mechanics in the same way that other powers are. for example, infection cannot be leeched or swapped. if the alpha is target of leecher and swapper, only the 'normal' power is affected

Just to make sure: we do not know who is sporting which hero/character? With the exception to ravenvii who couldn't resist revealing his secret identity as a publicity stunt..and maybe our awesome WonderWoman [WW].

I like that!

Imprecise wording on my part. The latter explanation is correct. I was explaining it from a player's perspective. If it happens in the thread, it essentially occurred exactly at that time. If it happens via PM, it is effective immediately, but its effect may be delayed until the next deadline at the extreme, depending upon when I, the GG react to it with regards to the deadline. I was trying to provide abstract language to provide myself (or others) a basic framework to repeat easily each game.

Blocker: does it include infection? if the target is a WW, does it block all activities of the target (if more than one are at play) or just one of them?

Yes, it includes infection. All activities within that period. However, note that I regard WW as a group activity. You can't block a normal WW kill in this manner unless they are the only remaining WW.

Good questions. Both blocker/amplifier and target must be alive within that period for it to take effect. If blocker/amplifier is killed in that period, their power is removed from that time period. Whether or not that nullifies the action depends on the target and whether it makes sense for the action to be reversible. For instance, reversing a death does not make sense. Reversing a power that would further extend the deadline may, however. Additionally, all implications of the blocking/amplification must occur within that period. For instance, the die-hard would not be able to survive an additional lynching because it would take place in another time period. The hunter would only get two kills if they were both taken in that period.

Normal night order still applies (i.e. scan, protect, kill)

There's lots of interesting possible combinations and I've thought of contingencies, so I'm interested to see what players think up.

Scavenger: I would make more like the kandra in the last game: takes the power at night, but cannot be used that same night. No limit in how many times it can be used.

I don't agree and think the potential is that it could be too powerful (imagine a WW as scavenger). I also want the player to be more judicious in what they use.

Smoker: does he block one player from scanning or protects one target from being scanned? i think it should be the latter, otherwise is too much like the blocker blocker. Also, maybe it should be recurrent, not just one-off (with provision of not smoking same twice in a row). basically the WW equivalent of the guard

Correct, blocker is associated with source. Smoker is associated with target.

The only choice on the part of the meddler is which WW they're focusing their power on. I'm also adjusting the wording so it affects all scans within that period (Seer, Seeker and Spy). A fake seer scan would say villager and I'd give them a random unassigned role. For the Seeker, I'll give them a power active on that WW from amongst the active roles that isn't the Meddler. For the spy, I'll give them a random live player.

In this case, I'm going to give kami and alpha general pool powers (in addition to kami and alpha) and then have one WW from the exclusive pool.

Just to make sure: we do not know who is sporting which hero/character? With the exception to ravenvii who couldn't resist revealing his secret identity as a publicity stunt..and maybe our awesome WonderWoman [WW].

I like that!

You do in the narrative, thus players are free to share what they sent me if they want. Their actual powers are hidden. I won't do any role reveals via narratives either; it will always be implied or inferred on the part of the players.

I've also added a new section
ASSIGNMENT ORDER:
Village Core (all players) -> Werewolf Core + General Pool WW core roles (all players - Village Core) -> WW Exclusive (all players - Village Core - Werewolf Core) -> Villagers [General Pool or Village Exclusive] (all players - Village Core - Werewolf Core - Werewolf Exclusive)

It's done this way so that the village exclusive roles are more likely to be assigned because they're selecting from the general pool after the werewolf core has and thus have two less roles to be factored in the probability.

Hmm, thought the narrative would only feature the characters thus leaving us inthe dark guessing who would be who (to be revealed by the player in the thread or at the end). Thought that would be a nice guessing game but whatever. Doesn't really matter. :)

Heh, I'm going to let you make one up for me. Choose wisely. :D

:D
Chris, better get one of these...
