I thought this big game was wicked fun. I was a little worried about the addition of another set of bad guys, but in the end I really liked having the vampires. The suspense of waiting for them to become active was really neat.

For the next game, I like the idea of the shaman.

I'd like in again, too.

I must confess to a (little white) lie earlier. When Mexbearpig asked me who I protected the night before, I said tooz. That wasn't true; I actually protected ucfgrad93, but my plan was to protect tooz during that current turn.

If I were 100% certain that Mexbearpig was the last vampire, it would only matter if the villagers didn't vote to lynch him; but in any event, I wanted the last vampire - whoever it was - to suspect that I was leaving tooz unprotected.

I have to confess, a small part of me also continued to suspect mscriv, primarily because tooz hadn't been able to confirm otherwise; all the more reason to protect our seer, and to mislead the last remaining vampire into thinking he was vulnerable.

In the end, this game did end up being pretty exciting. Looking forward to doing it again.

I am so hurt that despite my complete honesty and my willingness to risk openly pointing out bad guys that you still doubted me. :(

I felt like Don't panic and I made quite the villager detective team and I'm very surprised we both lasted. Good work sir. :D

If we do another game then I'd love to play again. I think this game worked pretty well as far as the roles go. We played with 19 and 10 players were either special or a baddie. Unless we add more players it might be difficult to add more roles.

There's potential for the Shaman role with a one shot healing and there's potential for a Priest role with a one shot resurrection of one character. But I definitely think this game hit the sweet spot and we don't need to overcomplicate things.

A quick post before I pass out:

I definitely think this is the best game of them all, despite the rough beginning. However, I think there are some balancing issues. Primarily, I think the villagers are actually a bit *too* powerful this game.

A few modifications I have in mind:

The Vampire Hunter and Werewolf Hunter will only be immune to their respective nemeses' attack once. If the vampire or werewolf attacks their respective Hunter again, the Hunter dies. This ensures that a stranded vampire or werewolf can still win a game where a Hunter still lives. (This could be seen in this game - when Mexbearpig was left as the last Vampire, you *know* it's not possible for him to win, since it will be nigh-impossible for him to convince the villagers to hang Tomorrow, and thus it would be impossible for Mexbearpig to win, even if he survives until all villagers but Tomorrow is dead.)

The insta-kill powers of the Hunters should be reduced to where it will only be effective against villagers and the Hunters' respective nemeses. (If a Vampire Hunter tries to insta-kill a werewolf for example, it will fail and the insta-kill will be wasted). This forces the Hunters to be even more careful of their targets.

There's a lot more I want to say, but this will be it for tonight - I'm going to get myself knocked out.

Not sure if I'm on board for a simple one or a complicated one this time....

Hey guys so word on the street is we can't start a Simple WW Game until another complex one starts so....

Get One Going!!! I need my WW Game! It's like crack with no legal issues! :D

btw hot avatar.

:D What he said!

No new thread yet but please count me in if I miss it (very likely signing off for the rest of the night)

I think if the instant kill fails it should kill the respective hunter. As they attack something that they could not effect and would tick them off. It would result in the hunters death.

I'll roll with another complex game I guess. I just can't seem to get into the simple ones.

I'll go with another advanced game, I have to go brave the college bookstore in a few minutes, so if I'm not back in time for the new thread, count me in.

Ahem... mind your manners now son. We adults (advanced players) are talking here, so don't interrupt. Now why don't you go back to playing with your little friends (simple players) in the other room and don't be bothering us anymore. ;) :D

Part of what I find interesting after playing two games now is playing over and over with the same people. You can't help but be affected by what has happened in previous games as that sort of gives you an idea into someone's playing style. I think this keeps you on your toes and encourages us as players to try new strategies or interaction styles.

I played in both games, so what does that make me???

:p

I agree about the repetitive playing. It's very cool to see just home much does come across in a forum setting and the patterns that you can pick up on.

Can't wait for the next big game. I hope I don't miss sign-ups being at work.

I wonder if instead of the previously discussed Shaman role that there could be one player that is basically booby trapped. They can be lynched like a normal villager but if they are attacked by a wolf or vamp they AND the wolf or vamp die. I wonder if this role could also be a seer.

Just an idea.

I vote they be called the village boob. :p It is an interesting idea in that it makes the baddies be more careful about how they plan out who to slaughter.

Ok, seriously, I do see what ravenvii is talking about with the hunters possibly being too powerful due to complete immunity so maybe their protection should be limited in some way. That being said, if we make them more vulnerable how about also making them a team in that just like the werewolves/vamps they know who each other are and can PM to work together strategically?

^ I suppose so about the hunter(s) - maybe it can be done so that they can only survive two attacks, third one and push daisies.

Another possibility, if the hunter and the seer can be revealed to each other and permitted to communicate.

Did someone say boobs? Oh, boob. I saw iBlue was posting and got confused. Carry on.

So, how long do you guys discuss the game before playing it? Another week? No wonder this thread is over 1,000 posts already.:)

Or, we could combine the various things we are talking about. The hunters are not immune at all and therefore can be killed by a werewolf or vampire. However, they are hunters, which means when they are attaked they also strike back and both the attacker and the victim are killed. The way this would practically work is the hunter is killed and a wolf/vamp is chosen at random or by the hunter themself to be killed in the fight. This brings about more strategic options in that the baddies can take out their enemy, but to do so means making a sacrifice in the process. Although, this could still give too much power to the hunters as a lone wolf or vamp can't win the game without convincing the village to hang the hunter.
