$199 is a killer deal. Ipod cost similar price, but doesn't have phone... or GPS... or anything else.

I've waited a year, guess I can wait another month...just hope they are readily available in July!

it will not be cheap I guess, because it will kill competition. It will repeat itunes destiny... $60?

I didn't get to read all this thread, but did they mention anything about current customers upgrading their iPhones? or will they only grant the $199/$299 deals for new customers or those who extend their contract?

So let's see:

App store, a month away
2.0 firmware, a month away
MobileMe, a month away
3G iPhone, a month away

Nothing to get today at all.

there are no prices on the UK apple store.. damn!

now.. $299 equated to £169 with the old 8gb, so that'll probably be the price of the 16gb one across this side of the pond

£169 would be lovely for 16gb. Annoying that there are no prices yet though!

Service plan? how much?

Do you really expect them to announce service plans for all 22 launch countries? We're still a month out from launch and the various carriers will announce detals between now and then as they see fit.

what's in the box

ok.. there is no dock in the box.. but you do get

Stereo headset with mic
USB power adapter
Dock Connector to USB cable
Documentation
Cleaning/polishing cloth
SIM ejector tool

the prices mentioned were the MAXIMUM prices it will be..

hinting that there will be discounts available..
