(PS If you have your laptop with you, why would you need to tether it to your iPhone to iChat - you can just iChat on your laptop?)

You would tether it if you didnt have an available wifi connection on your laptop but you have 3G on your iPhone.

Front facing camera would have been nice for both iChat (if you wanted it...it's great for people with kids!) and in order to be able to take a decent picture of yourself (or yourself with friends). You'd be able to see the picture before you take it and hold the phone/pose accordingly.

Don't forget that w/ 3.0 there is support for accessories. I wouldn't be suprised if someone makes an external camera that either plugs in the dock connector or could work via bluetooth. Then you can skype or ichat.

The only "earth-shattering" item of this keynote was that it sucked so bad.

No front-facing camera for self-photos, video iChat, etc..
No AT&T tethering. Big bag o' fail right there
No Steve. No "One More Thing".

Other kinda "nice to haves" that didn't materialize
No Netbook
No update AppleTV.
But the above are "nice to haves" and do not contribute directly to the WWDC suckage.

Internet Tethering

Share your Internet connection with your laptop with Internet tethering via Bluetooth or USB.44. Tethering is not currently offered in the U.S. and some other countries. See your carrier for availability.

Oh yeah a new from the ground up os that will redesign and the whole way the computer handles tasks and takes advantage of both cpu and gpu, together with some excellent touches in the interface and rewrites of whole applications...for $29...sucks....

Firewire on macbook, which becomes pro, gets better screen, hd drives and a drop across the line in prices.

A huge drop in prices in the new airs together with cpu bumps.

A new phone almost fully voice operated, with autofocus camera, video, a compass, faster...etc....etc....sucks:rolleyes:

A brand new os 3.0 for all iphone users, FREE, which elevates the iphone to arguably by far and away the best mobile platform....which has all we ever wanted and more, landscape keyboards, copy paste, mms, search everywhere...etc....etc...suckss:rolleyes:

Boy did that keynote suck!!! Bigtime....why no netbook, why no apple tv!!!!;):D:apple:

No update AppleTV.

Apple TV is not a platform. It has no business at WWDC. An update is more likely at the September Special Event.

By the way, there's hope for it anyway because Apple execs have said several times that Snow Leopard is about unifying the Mac, iPhone, iPod and Apple TV platforms with the same frameworks.

Maybe in September, we'll finally get our Apple TV running a stripped down Snow Leopard instead of 10.4 Tiger.

somehow, i don't think we'll see ipods until mid-late october this time around, as i don't think apple will want to have snow leopard and ipods running through the same month, and plus, new ipods can steal win7's press. plus, apple has to save something for the 4th quarter.
