What I don't get is - why are those people already starting to line up the night before? They have tickets, so they know they get in?

The seats are first-come first-served. People would rather sit in row 1-10 than row 40+. Plus, only the first 2,000 people or so get to watch in the real room, all the others must watch in the overflow room via monitors.

What are the chances that we can get Lion within a week? As far as I know there was no GM Seed (don't know if there is usually one for OS X, but I would assume)?

So maybe GM tonight and public release by end of the month?

Very cool. Thanks for the coverage. I just purchased a brand new iMac and it obviously won't come pre-loaded with Lion so I hope they offer some kind of discount or free upgrade if it's released in the next few weeks.

They will probably offer it free (or for a $9.99 shipping charge) to every Mac purchased between the announcement and release date. They don't want sales affected. As of the release date, machines built beforehand will have drop-in discs (or possibly Mac App Store freebie codes) with them, while online orders may still have to get a disc in the mail. I'll wait till it either preloaded or comes with a disc dropped in the box to get my new 27" iMac.

What about the new iPhone?

Im surprised that iCloud.com is still redirecting to CloudMe.com

I would have thought that they would have stopped the redirect by now, even by just redirecting to apple.com or something like that.

What you guys think?

I think that redirect will happen at the last minute.

You better stop hitting that site though so your dns is cleared out and directs you to the new one immediately when they do update it.

Are they assigned seats? Maybe they want to be up front.

There are more attendees than the conference room can hold. Only the first batch of attendees get to be in the conference hall. The remaining attendees have to watch close-circuit video feeds in overflow rooms.

EDIT: whoops, beaten by bbeagle :)

The closer you get to the main RDF source the more Zen like the whole experience is. ;)

Not to be a Debbie-downer, but nowhere on that page does it say they'll literally be streaming the keynote. I suspect it'll be a live stream of them reporting from the convention center.

I mean, I'd love to be wrong, but if I am why aren't they bragging about the fact that they'll show the keynote itself?

it does actually say they will have a live video feed.

I will be heading into work and barricading myself in my office so I can watch the updates.

My WWDC checklist includes...

Make a Sandwich: 12:45
Get a drink: 12:50
Set up sandwich and drink in office: 12:52
Make sure I am on MacRumors Live, 9to5 Mac and Engadget: 12:54
Go to the bathroom, nothing worse then having to pee in the middle of the keynote: 12:55
Sit down and wait for the coverage to start: 12:58

Yep.. I am ready.
3.00 Order a Sandy Bridge MacBook Air :D

My WWDC 2011 Prediction

Here is what I think will announce during the WWDC 2011 opening keynote (this is just my prediction):

Prediction:
-iOS 5 (out in September):
Revamped Notifications
Widgets (finally bringing calculator, weather app, etc. to iPad)
iCloud Related Improvements
-Mac OS X Lion (Out by the end of June):
What has already been announced + improvements that have to do with iCloud
-iCloud:
Wireless syncing service
iCloud = wireless itunes (itunes in the cloud)
Streaming music (streaming + saving to your device for later playback)
Major Time Capsule Revamp

NO iPhone 5/4S here
NO Macbook Air revamp here

icloud seems so uninteresting i want to fall asleep. i hope there is more to it than what its rumored to be.
