Lots of those people are developers so waiting in line for new announcements and going to the classes is their life and their job.

Classes, yes. For which they have pre-registered.

Keynote, no. I'm sure their careers won't suffer if they aren't in the front row lovingly looking at Steve.

I will be heading into work and barricading myself in my office so I can watch the updates.

My WWDC checklist includes...

Make a Sandwich: 12:45
Get a drink: 12:50
Set up sandwich and drink in office: 12:52
Make sure I am on MacRumors Live, 9to5 Mac and Engadget: 12:54
Go to the bathroom, nothing worse then having to pee in the middle of the keynote: 12:55
Sit down and wait for the coverage to start: 12:58

Yep.. I am ready.

Me...

why would you want to watch it online when you have the opportunity to see it live?

In fairness, I think what that is is simply Engadget will be streaming (read:broadcasting) live from WWDC, rather than Engadget actually showing the conference live....
Think so too. I was watching the video when they said they had to get get inline but would be streaming live after the keynote with an analysis of what transpired.

Wouldn't be surprised if Lion was made available via MAS by week end.

Might be a little bit early, but I think it's reasonable. The Dev Previews have been really stable, so I'm betting that they'll release Gold Master this week and then available in the App Store shortly after that. The wait shouldn't be too long.

Youre right...what was I thinking:eek:

Im sure the video will display textual blog entries with some totally awesome transition effects.

Answer me this: Why are they claiming theirs is live and yet CNN is delaying half an hour?

What's the reason for CNN's delay? (My guess is Apple's forcing them.) And why is Engadget not being delayed? (My guess is they're not actually showing the keynote.)

If your theory is different than mine then you need to explain the difference between CNN and Engadget because I can't think of anything else to explain it.

WHO CARES!!!!! jeeze dude just figure it out when it starts.

Sorry to the forum members. It's just that this guy is nitpicking something so lame. If it's not clear enough them just check it out when the time comes. No need to argue something so worthless and pointless.

WHO CARES!!!!!

All the people posting the links in here care.

In fact, I can think of no reason why people who don't care about these kind of details would even be IN this thread. I would think that 100% of the people in here care about these kind of details. Everyone else will wait 'till later to check Macrumors.

My predictions:

iCloud: Not just music streaming and not just software update caching. Much more. What was that last Microsoft failed phone that they killed after a month or so? Most reveiws seemed to like the centralized web portal that the phone used as a service to store your friends, media, etc. iCloud will be similar. It will store your media, but it will also be Apple's Dropbox and Remote Access tool. All apps will have a place to store and share files now. No more emailing attachments or "save to Dropbox". Developers will have a simple API to tap into iCloud for storage.

Plus, on the Mac side...Remember "Back to my Mac"? Or the home folder on iPod? here it is, finally. You will be able to go to any Mac and log in as it is your Mac. Not sure if it will require a Time Capsule...

iOS 5
  • The obvious "improved notifcations"
  • iPhone 4 gets an Expose like app switcher
  • New API for apps to grab data and files from iCloud; there will be a public shared area for apps to share docs and each app will have it's own private area
  • Live updating of icons (think Weather apps)
  • Notifications, Events, Email on lock screen

I know this is a stretch, but I really want Apple to take on a more serious role into the world of gaming. An announcement about this would be thrilling. I want to be able to play games like Battlefield 3 and Elder Scrolls on my Mac, without Windows. I know its up to the developers to make the game for the platform. But they refuse to invest in it because few consider the Mac as a serious gaming platform. And then I assume, Apple is hesitant to make the Mac a more serious gaming platform, because few developers make games for it. It is a vicious cycle. I want it to end.

How bout some toggle sliders in the iOS settings to turn off twitter, Facebook, YouTube and other social media integration. Those of us who prefer not to waste our time with tweeting our likes, dislikes, and whereabouts, would like to have the option of not seeing it in our iOS menus, etc. Shouldn't be hard to do. I don't Flickr either, thank you.

How about waiting to see if that's the set up ?

Am I the only one looking at the iCloud rumors and thinking, "Meh, big deal"?

Wait until you know what it is. The only things we know up to now are based on more or less baseless rumors.

Once you know what it is, you can form your opinion and bash it if you still don't like it.

but for now: we all have to wait.

Dear Friend,
Were just poking fun at your sensitivity. Everything is OK. We're all friends. Lets just kick back and enjoy the Keynote...whether it be live video or blogged. I dont think it really matters much, do you?
