I thought it was pretty good. I would have liked to have seen some more storage for us hardcore MobileMe users. Paid or free storage would have been nice, but at least the albums can be published now too people. So that's good enough for me.:D

That's really my only complaint, and my 3GS is guaranteed at least a partial upgrade, so that's pretty nice as well!

I will admit one thing though, I swear I was totally expecting at the very end for Tim Cook to come back on stage and say something like "Oh I almost forgot....blah blah... Mac Pro".......

I suppose that would be too reminiscent of Steve though... RIP Steve and Bless your family.

No new iPhone really made my gut feel horrible....most of the contracts will expire soon and apple expects us to wait 3-4 more months..and a MacBook Pro with retina would cost $2,200 starting..and iOS6 was nothing awesome like we all expected...at least they could had give us more surprises but nothing special so much for the week we all waited for..........thanks apple.....Steve was the only one that knew what to do and I don't see apple being special anymore
it's a serious problem.

Lol 3-4 months is long? Maybe it wasn't awesome to you but alot of people are finding the new stuff really nice.

You know, it's the same thing every year since 2008, and probably even before that. After every WWDC keynote, you always get the guy who starts the "WWDC didn't wow me and therefore, Apple is normal/moribund/dead" thread. And it always turns out that the angst is because someone hyped themselves up wiht all kinds of outlandish, unrealistic rumors.

There will be a new iPhone: it's just going to be in October. Center stage today was the desktop line (which badly needed a refresh and got it), and the software (which it should be, being a DEVELOPERS' conference).

All in all, I was very happy with waht was announced today. Did IOS6 get a complete facelift? Nope, but it's got a LOT of new functionality that shows that the OS is there to work, and improvements come from features, not by putting lipstick on a pig as other mobile OSes will frequently do.

I thought it was great. I was not at all expecting an iPhone announcement so no loss there. iOS looks ok, there are actually some things going on there I didn't expect, but it's still not looking like any major update (where are our toggles?). I am in the market for a new mac, so today kind of got me drooling a little bit.

They didn't announce an iPhone at WWDC last year either- was that the worst one ever or was this one? Please clarify.

Great updates. Can't wait for October
I thought it was a good WWDC. If you were expecting an iPhone you disappointed yourself.

Agreed on both accounts. I wanted updates to the Airs but I expected nothing. By having low expectations, you can a) never be disappointed and b) be REALLY impressed. I was today not only by the Airs, but by the magnificent engineering behind the new retina MBP, and the new features coming so OS X ML and iOS 6.

Nothing that will change the world as we see it but definitely some continued innovation and excellence from Apple.

$2200 for the new MBP is a steal for what it's got in it. I was expecting at least $3k with retina and all solid-state.

Not always. When the iOS 6 beta never showed up back in the spring it should of been abundantly clear that this years iPhone would also be released in the fall.

The post I responded to said it's "abundantly clear" that the iPhone will now always be launched in the fall because the last one was released in the fall.

No beta release is a completely valid reason to say it should have been clear that there would be no new iPhone for summer.

Since my last post, I also realized that 6.0 won't be available until fall as well. While I should have realized that, given that I know Apple wouldn't release 6.0 before releasing a new device, it's still disappointing. It's not like it's a complete freaking overhaul, just some added features. Should be labeled more of a 5.5.

By that mentality, shouldn't it be iOS 1.6?

Besides, you don't know how much was or wasn't changed or what will be before it's final release.

In recent memory (past 5-6 years or so), I think WWDC was actually about 2nd in awesomeness. That retina MBP = :0 .
First has to be WWDC 2010, the iP4 was just amazing at the time.

Agree. Tim Cook is normalizing apple. Apple is going to become an average company. Samsung's victory over apple is already an iron fact and continues to be!

This is not that wrong, even if it is not even visible between the lines, yet

Apple doesn't expect you to do anything. If you had bought your phone outright, unsubsidized and with no contract attached to it, you wouldn't be in this mess. And its resale value would be even higher than it already is, because it would be factory unlocked. Lesson learned? (please don't answer that)

I knew there would be no iPhone but I was still super excited and was kind of let down. But I personally was excited for killer iOS 6 features and new iMacs and Mac pros so obviously I was let down but people waiting for laptops were thrilled.

I cant stand people who post things like this and then never come back to defend their stance on what they said or feel. You make claims that Apple is going south because of SJ's death. And WWDC was the worst keynote ever. Then people disagree with you and you're no where to be found. COWARD!

If a thread is created and the OP has been down ranked 25 times. Should the forum system send the thread to some "idiotic post" purgatory?

Time is precious...too precious to waste time reading threads that don't contain a molecule of useful information.

Are people really this unreasonable and unrealistic? Or is the user base slowly becoming more and more stupid?

I'm afraid so and the truly scary part is that most are voting age. I can only imagine the cloudy confusion they must have trying to understand political topics.

Apple launched arguably the best laptop on the market this WWDC. I am not sure how this constitutes for the worst WWDC... unless of course all you care about is iPhone news.

I really enjoy hamburgers, but Apple made no mention of them, therefor this WWDC was pretty bad.

It must be great to be the people over at Apple; you get to release years old features and your fan base touts it everytime as the next big thing. Seriously, these updates every year are getting thinner and thinner. It's great that they're giving up turn by turn directions but non smart phones have been doing that for over 4 years now. And getting Tom Tom to help with the maps/navigation? If you're used a tom tom navigation device then you know how bad this could turn out. Also, Siri is still super useless. Opening apps.....great, I guess? Using it for useless facts that you'd only access when you're bored? It's a gimmick feature. Siri is so incredibly pointless, and I don't know anyone that uses it on a regular basis. Can we all agree that the 4s is the black swan of the iPhone line? Plus, it won't be much better on iPad, cause again it's a gimmick feature.

The Retina macbook is cool and all but that's the only big thing that they had up their sleeves, and the price point is way too high for it.

In summary, yes this was one of the worst WWDC's ever but not simply for the things that were introduced but rather because of the direction in which Apple seems to be headed. And yes, this began while steve jobs was alive.

best? very arguable considering the price point. And let's not forget that nothing will support the retina display for quite some time besides native OSX apps.

You can argue that it's been that way since apple products became the new fad.
