Anyone else skim this post's headline, miss the "WWDC" and think that this was about WATCH buyers starting to get shipping confirmation emails…?:cool:

Stand down!

I got my email an hour ago. Excited. Its been a couple years since I was at WWDC and its always worth it.

Booked my room already and now booking my flight.

Got my email as well and my heart dropped. This will be my second year in a row attending WWDC! Last year, I had a blast.

Awesome! What software do you develop?

Uh no...:D. I think you've got AppleWatch on the brain. :)

I work for a non-profit organization that performs research and we slightly dabble in mobile development for internal enterprise applications. We primarily develop in Java and C#, but have some older Objective-C projects. I mainly go to WWDC for networking and personal reasons, not so much for work.

Stand down!

That's exactly what I thought when I got the email. I thought... "Oh great! My Apple Watch status changed to processing!" When I looked at the email, I got quite the surprise.

Yes I am aware of it. I guess I have to be more specific to you, the event I was referring was the keynote. And since that lasts only for a day, I am planning on taking a leave.

Hope, I was clear enough now.

WWDC is a 5 day event

----------

Actually it doesn't. Only about 75% of the attendees can fit in the main room. The rest watch it in a separate room.

But the main reason for the event is NOT the keynote - it's a 5 day developers conference 9-5.

You can't possibly attend it all. There are around 8-12 events going on at the same time all day Monday through Friday. And a free party on Thursday night with a big name band, free drinks and food. Plus free lunches and food throughout, free apple merchandise, and one on one with apple engineers to help developers code their apps. The money is well worth it.

For those who didn't get picked in the lottery, my bank account info is 00233678 for the routing number and 002398588 for the account number. Please make good use of the $1500 you did not have the opportunity to spend for WWDC and transfer it to my bank account.

It feels like the momentum that Apple has right now far exceeds anything I can recall in the past.

Apple Watch, MacBook, WWDC tickets, CarPlay expansion, Steve Jobs movies/books, OS X betas, Apple TV rumors, Apple Pay expansion, HealthKit/ResearchKit, iPad Pro rumors, Tim Cook recognition/awards, saving the forest...wow.

damn $1600

Does that even guarantee a seat for Cook's keynote?

My company sent me to the Red Hat Linux conference at the very same venue, last year, and the ticket was almost $2000.

A lot of comments here sound like they're feeling like they're missing out by not going. The kind of stuff they do at these kinds of things isn't really for end users. Like when they announced watch kit, and I saw people complaining that they didn't care.. Well, it's a developer conference! :p

How losers win

If I applied but did not "win," (I didn't) do I pay anything for those streamed sessions? Failing that, I will have access to WWDC videos of every session, right?

My coworker got his invite at 5:30 and I didn't get mine until 7 on the dot. Pumped!
