Watching this keynote makes me realize just how little I use my iPhone, and how unvaried and simple the things I use it for are. Some of the features for iOS 17 are quite clever, but most of them are of no interest to me. I don't have a compulsion to photograph and record every minute of my life, or share it with others. Some of the features are just plain weird to me - such as stickers. I had stickers when I was 7. Now I'm in my 40s, and I have no stickers at all.
iOS seems increasingly targeted at the type of person who just can't let go of their phone for one minute, and who walks down the street with their head down, immersed in their screen, oblivious to everything around them. They experience everything through their phone, not through their eyes, ears or senses.
