Well they weren’t impressed with the iPhone, Apple Watch, AirPods etc same thing here for Vision Pro however not as negative…..my take? It’s going to be game changing huge
Indeed. People around these forums play the same music all the time and never seem to learn from the past. Since original iPhone I have been following pretty much every new product category release and my oh my, haven't the negativity for each one of them be off the roof! And each time they were proven wrong. Particularly with the Apple Watch, after it was first announced, how ugly it looked and how useless was going to be and how no one was going to buy it. I find these type of comments very hilarious and stupid that the same time.

I’m curious of the apple crowd on here, who of you would pay this price?
I mean vision pro looks cool, I can imagine working with it and obviously watch a movie and gaming. For $2000 I would have not thought twice about but.. $3500 is just a lot.. for a toy..
who else had to laugh when they showed that guy film his kids with it? None will pull out these things at a kids birthday..way to creepy
Not me. Honestly that entire presentation gave me hard Ready Player One vibes and was depressing as hell. Lot of people hanging out alone talking to an empty room.
Made me want to go to a coffee shop just to be around real people.

The whole session was mediocre until they got to the Vision Pro. Same 'ol MacBook Air (still no support for two extern monitors). The watch OS? Yawned through that - nothing for runners? iPad OS - what was that update? Same 'ol, again. Now the Vision Pro ...

In context, this thing is 1.0 - yes in 5 years we'll be laughing at it - but didn't that happen with the iPad and iPhone. Apple is on to something as the AR/VR is tied to your daily life and the ecosystem you already have - home, work from home, entertainment, work, creatives. This as opposed to Zuckerberg's hopeless try at "Second Life" 2.0 an irrelevant cartoon fantasy wasteland - which unsurprisingly is sputtering. Ok yes, it's 1.0, its neither what we want, or they want to provide right now - and yes the cost of entry is a barrier for the masses. That said, they are on to something here. I was, all things taken into consideration, impressed.

Even if the Apple Vision Pro had not been announced, it still would have been an enjoyable event in my opinion, with a wealth of exciting software updates compared to the past two years. The Apple Vision Pro was the icing on the cake.No complaints, it was truly a great event.

Now let's hope that the Apple programming team rolls up their sleeves because there's a lot of work to be done to make WWDC a reality and there are tons of bugs across various platforms that still need fixing.

I remember my first Samsung plasma TV, it was 3000 dollars and broke after 3 years.

The Vision Pro is a very big high-end TV, which alone makes it worth the price for many people, they will love this in Asia where lots of people live alone in very cramped places. This is 1 or 2 months of rent in rural Japan, Apple will sell everything they can produce.

The headset would look WAY better with the pass through if it was full face, there is a reason movie astronauts wear the helmets they do. People want to see your whole face! Would maybe mean screen can be further from the eyes too.

I still don’t think VR Goggles will become a huge market. The Oculus failed. Meta failed. I just don’t see it. But what do I know? 🤷‍♂️ I do think when Apple has the tech to come out with AR glasses, that will be much bigger. AR glasses that look like regular glasses. More of a digital fashion accessory like the Apple watch is. Much more useful in everyday life. Glasses that look like regular glasses & come in many different styles… but that connect to your iphone and give you all sorts of data on the lenses when you need it. That can record photos & video Etc. That’d be cool.

iOS/iPadOS 17 are huge disappointments. Is that really the best they can do? Or have they been putting most people to work on visionOS?

Was excited about the 15" MBA but 8GB/256GB still being the minimum is a joke. I'll just wait for M3 refresh. For me to get the config I need then it's going to cost ~£2,200.

The headset looked great but I'm not interested until price comes down and battery life goes up. Even then....I need to buy prescription lenses to use it?

100%. It looks absolutely ridiculous on someone’s face. Hard to take this seriously.

Has anyone checked in on that moron iJustine? For her this event must have been the equivalent of a 2 kilo brick of sugar to a diabetic.

Nope. Not buying the new M2 Mac Pro until they release a super-duper: Mac M2 Studio-Pro-Ultra-Max-Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious ....with the optional $400.00 Hot Wheels.

This is the future for a lot of people. Not most people, but a ton of people are going to come home and log into these devices. The $3,500 is obviously too much. But the point was made that it can replace your computer, TV, and stereo system. And then it does everything those things do (for most people), but better. Apple might only sell a million of these in the first year or two. But the price will come down, the tech will get a bit better, the software will get a lot better, and this will be the future.

Based on experience with early pro digital cameras IMO two hours and iPhone-sized is totally acceptable for the battery on such a v1 device. Most construction workers are changing out batteries to power tools all day long to get a job done. And plenty of folks (like wedding photogs and hazmat workers) have experience wearing batteries on belts all day long to get a job done.
I’m not against the battery on the belt because I think it’s probably best that way. I would much rather have it on the belt, than on my head. Even if I wasn’t worried about the thing flaming out right next to my face just the additional weight is not good.

The reason why I say it should be longer than two hours is because if you’re watching a movie or something, you don’t want to have to change batteries during the movie. I have a feeling they’re going to come up with some extended battery pack. It doesn’t need to be so slim or light if it’s a battery pack you’re carrying on your waist or in your pocket.

In a world of AI, we stick with the dumbest assistant. But, guys, what about widgets and animated wallpapers! Wow wow wow!

One thing that caught my attention - using VisionPro for multi-FaceTime chats shows everyone else in the chat NOT wearing the VisionPro goggles... what the heck is it going to look like when everyone in the meeting is wearing them? Well, I can imagine what it's going to look like, but to me that just seems like a weird use for this device. I can't imagine having to look at a bunch of people wearing goggles that obscure a good amount of their faces...

I have to say, for content creators and people working on the move a lot it's a no brainer
No love for Apple CarPlay tho. They didn’t even mention anything. Also no calculator app for the iPad. It’ll never happen. Ughhh!

They did actually, all the occupants in the car will now have music share from their devices 😊
