And there it is! ChatGPT!

When was the last time someone came up with something so fast that caught Apple so off-guard that they straight up integrated it?

I mean they straight up said use your own API key. I'm kind of shocked. I thought they would roll it into Apple One or iCloud+. OpenAI must have driven a hell of a bargain.

This is definitely going to be in an Apple One-like subscription. Ain’t no way this is free lmao. If it is, a lot of AI startups are in TROUBLE
It is definitely going to be free. No one is going to pay for this as it currently is. Maybe if it improves and gets better over time.

You know, Apple Intelligence could be good if you can add all the other AI models and let Apple Intelligence decide which AI model is best to use for this application.

My only problem with removing things from photos in the background is they might end up looking over processed.

Sometimes looking at old photos, not just taken with smartphones, is they capture a moment in time and seem a bit more candid.

I wonder in the future when people look back at their photos they might regret some editing,
as they will look characterless.

I wouldn't say copy; they are much easier and intuitive. Apple is simplifying by removing the cumbersome prompts for regular folks. There is only so many use cases of AI, implementation matters.
Exactly, now I don't have to jump to two or three different things to do creative.

Linguists are going to have a field day researching how LLM usage is affecting language. Imagine what will happen when what we are reading is partly generated by AI.

Photos from recent iPhones already look way overprocessed.

I'm not sure I understand the the wall between Apple Intelligence and ChatGPT. They made Apple Intelligence seem like it can do things you would normally do with GPT, so what's the razor there?
Local context inference is used for data/operations on the phone. Apple published a paper recently on how local inference with device data outperformed chat gpt. But chatbot is needed for gen AI. Instead of Siri saying search the web or use GPT, they are linking it.
