Face it, Siri is crap! I have an Android based operating system in my car and asking it directions is awesome. I try that with Siri on CarPlay and it rarely gets is correct. They have a long, long way to go to catch up with the competition, it is understandable for such a small, underfunded company though....

Oh, for goodness sake! Don't you understand that Siri and Apple Maps on CarPlay will then deliver you those ads you have been missing? 😂

Still don’t understand the hardware limitation for Apple Intelligence. I can run other local models on iPhone XS without problems.

Good news is no one is going to expect much.
Actually I think with the supposed failure of Siri/AI people will be expecting quite a bit.

Personally I won't be expecting a whole lot of "improvements" as Siri works perfectly for me and I don't use ai stuff all that much. Regardless I'll be quite excited for WWDC and whatever is announced.

I haven't seen it, but from the description, this may be another lesson in UI legibility ignored just as the initial Liquid Glass release proved to be. Glows may catch attention, but they lower readability by reducing contrast where it counts. Does no-one at Apple study what makes typography work anymore?

In his Power On newsletter today, Gurman said iOS 27 will include a new Siri interface in the Dynamic Island. When you trigger Siri, he said the Dynamic Island will show a "Search or Ask" prompt, and this will apparently be accompanied by a "glowing cursor" that looks similar to how the "26" is highlighted in the WWDC 2026 graphic.
So much for the rumor that iOS 27 is going to be a Snow Leopard-style update. Tim Cook just cannot resist jam-packing every operating system with new features because he thinks that will lead to more profits. That useless man is filled with greed, and he doesn’t care about how bloated and buggy Apple’s operating systems have become.

It’s just like cars. They’ll release the 2027 model year cars around the same time they release the new OS updates. Since you’ll be using iOS 27 primarily in 2027, it makes sense.
I've always thought that was stupid for cars, and do here as well. Just because it's common practice doesn't inherently make it wise.

Unrelated but it would be neat if Apple introduced a"virtual" LED signal around the Dynamic Island for notifications, like the BlackBerry days. I know Samsung and a few other Android manufacturers have something similar.
I’ve been saying this for ages. notifications should've been added to the dynamic island. Many system notifications like motion sickness reduction and AirPods linking are already there

Siri looks fine already, it’s its IQ which has been problematic so far, so hopefully this time Apple will manage to match Siri’s eye candy with more solid functionality.

I have tried running Apple Intelligence for several days with 26.1 on my iPhone 17 and did not like the extra generated heat and reduced battery life, so turned it off. All the cloud AI clients run fine indeed, but they are not so deeply integrated into the device.

The decision to name the OS after the year FOLLOWING the year the OS is announced and released continues to be the dumbest choice they’ve made in a while…
I personally think naming it after the year that will have 3 months left in it when released is dumber than naming it after the following year where it'll be the main OS for 9 months but what do I know.
