No. Apple has announced that Steve Jobs will return from medical leave at the end of this month. Not the middle of next month.

They never announced he went on medical leave, and for an individual who is very private, why would they officially announce he's coming back?

I'm looking to buy a new mb too, but I'm not too worried about the hardware upgrades, that's a given now that the white is claimed edge out the 2.0 unibody. They'll certainly have to do something about that. As for snow leopard, it would help apple if they can get it out before the back to school surge (june 19?) Then every freshman in town would have a shiny new apple months before windows 7 hits the shelves and they'll tell their buddies to buy it. What I really want to see is them putting the battery technology from the 17" into the 13s and 15s. Then I'll buy. a mb with 10 hours of life? Just imagine.

I'm surprised some of you haven't gone as far as to count the number of icons on the poster, then cross reference this with biblical quotes and lunar eclipses to speculate the exact date Apple will release every Apple product from here on.

Cuz its pretty obvious Apple's design team knows how to tell the future, if you can read it right.

Actually, doing that foretells the exact date of each iPhone launch divided by the week number of the Panther OS launch - however, that is only if you include the average number of security patches in the 3rd week of every August - which is exactly why the Quicktime icon is silver, thusly signaling the anniversary of an event that led to the birth of Steve.

Final Cut Pro?

Am I the only one who can see the Final Cut Pro icon on the banners, possibly hinting at a new version of Final Cut Studio with better multicore performance to compliment Snow Leopard?

That's FileVault.

Why are there RAM chips in the trash?

I'm guessing that's Objective-C's Garbage Collection

JUST IN

Is this a new dashboard icon on the left hand side of the banner?

EDIT: My bad, other left.

EDIT 2: Better pic - Kudos gdgt

EDIT 3: Icon on left is Grand Central (the traffic light)

Look at that Silver Quicktime Icon!

I REALLY hope Snow Leopard has the new Marble user interface! Pleaase Apple! Windows 7 has really stepped it up in the visuals department, Apple needs to maintain its lead!

I agree. I don't understand why it would be difficult to do this Marble user interface. Just slap it in Apple.

I actually have done that. I just don't want to spoil the surprises for the rest of you.

while everyone is excited and pumped up for the event now... i always get tired of the disappointment and complaining that arises as soon as the event is over. no one is ever happy enough, no matter what happens during the keynote.

That's what comes from reading rumors for months. Read enough speculation and you'll eventually hear people predicting everything under the sun, and then, when something realistic happens, it can't compare. Well, that and people like to whine on the internet. ;)

p.s. - you're all really going to enjoy June 14, 2013.

You are 100% correct, sir. In about 3 hours, we will be swamped by people bitching and moaning. However, until then, we must hype this to no end.

iPhone with video calls... Schiller calls up Jobs :)

It was usually so that Jobs called Schiller (eg. on iChat), so i guess that this time it's gonna be the other way round. I think that's a perfect way to showcase the video conferencing on the iPhone with built in iSight camera.

maybe the date on the banner is the iPhone release date. I would kinda expect Apple to release Snow Leopard maybe after October 26th, to make 10.5 Leopard more than two years old.

I'm betting the overlap is caused by the banner designer randomly tossing the icons about to make it look like they "exploded" out from the center. Some of these are bound to overlap.

Sorry to be a killjoy. :D

Woo! I told my teacher I had to leave school early... but secretly it was for this! :p

Stoked, can't wait. I thought I heard of an audio stream? Is that true?

THIS IS GOING TO BE AWESOME.

Leaving school to sit in front of a computer hitting refresh on a website for text info that will readily be available when you get home, probably in glorious HD video, without any server overload issues?

No offence, but that's got to be the dumbest excuse for bunking off I've heard in a long time.

Are you planning on buying anything straight away on the very off chance that Apple actually produce something new to sell today? If not, then missing out on education for this is ridiculous.

Most people here are either stuck at work (like me) or at home already having finished their working day.

As much as I loathe the site, could you not just have had Twitter message you in school? Seems ideal for this sort of purpose.

Nailed it.

Maybe not on an iPhone, but if Shiller phoned Jobs, can you imagine a) the applause, and b) the overwhelmingly positive effect on Apple stock price?

If you're planning on buying some Apple stock, do it within the next 50 mins!

Will they have the main thing tonight, where they announce everything? So is it worth staying up that late too watch it? And the next few days will be showing everything off more to people who go there?
