Well, if you were on the Pebble Watch Face store you would have seen that 90% of the available watch faces were crap. Lots of Boobs, Butts, and Middle Fingers. There were also tons of faces that were almost the same but from different developers. I still loved searching for all the great faces but you had to wade through a lot of muck to find it. Maybe Apple is trying to prevent this from happening.

I had zero experience with Pebble Watches and their Watch Store, but that's entirely embarrassing to have inappropriate or suggestive Watch faces as you listed. If Apple ever allows third party developers to have access, I hope garbage like that would be censored to prohibit Watch faces that display anything in that nature. It just would give the Apple Watch a juvenile appeal.

So just because you don't like something that means someone else can't have it?

No. I never stated somebody else can't have it. Obviously that's not up for me to decide what Apple permits or not. However, I simply stated my disdain with having any type of suggestive Watch faces exhibiting drugs, middle fingers or nudity is inappropriate and I think it degrades the Apple Watch. Being how close Apple has the watch faces and overall development in their grasp, I can't see them allowing to have those type of Watch faces available for download. (I also take in account that downloads are optional.)

But by all means, if that type of paraphernalia appeases to somebody else and that's what they like, so be it. But my opinion stands that I think it's not appropriate and I don't condone it for the Watch.

We can have boobs and butts and penises and middle fingers on our watches now just by uploading our own pics.

Put Apple in the position of censoring watch faces, though, and people will still complain that they can't choose any possible face they might want.

There is a significant difference between uploading and downloading something that is available to the Apple Watch. Nobody can control what you upload to your Apple Watch as a background photo. But there is control for something that you can download. Conflating.

That said, the counter argument, someone could just as easily complain why Apple Would permit/allow suggestive watch faces available for download to begin with versus why not allow it. The Argument goes both ways.

OP; apologies for transitioning away from the actual topic. My thoughts have concluded on this topic.

I believe it is still a battery issue. If your code is too complicated the battery drain would be quite high over the course of a day.

yeah, we had some of those with the Pebble too. I liked one Watch face that had stars flying by non-stop. it would cut my battery by half. It wasn’t too big of a deal though. If people found that a watch face took too much battery, they just deleted it and found another one.

I have to agree with everything said above - I think the main reason we have no Apple Watch Face store currently is simply that too many watch faces will take a massive chunk out of the watch's battery.

I too had a Pebble watch (Pebble Time), and have to admit that about 95% of the watch face store was filled with absolute and utter crap! There were some good watch faces however, but you really need to wade through ALL the crap to find them and yes, some of these did cane the battery quite a bit!!

The question I hoped to ask in my earlier posts (with photos of various traditional watches), but about which I was far too obtuse, was whether "sophistication and class" meant a simple, clean design or more small details; or a plain dial surface vs textures and guilloche.

Apple should add 100 Watch faces not 10 of them.

I don't necessarily need a 100. I would like to see more of a unique variety offering different style Watch faces with different designs. Take the Hermes Watch face for example, something along those lines with that interface.

Siri watch face looks interesting but I don't know how often it would turn out to be useful

I'm wondering if the reason for the limiting of options is legal in nature. If someone published a watch face that infringed on a copyright, I'm sure someone like Rolex or TAG Heuer wouldn't hesitate to pursue a lawsuit. Then again, an app on the iPhone(Chronometer) has 16 unique faces which haven't resulted in any issues. Wouldn't mind seeing some modified versions of those faces available on the Apple Watch.

I'm a little disappointed with the new watch faces. Wish they would've added more. The Toy Story ones look nice but I wouldn't use them since it's not my style. The Siri face doesn't look very nice in my opinion and I doubt that it'd be very useful for me, because the proactive and Siri suggestion stuff isn't really useful for me on the iPhone either.

I wish Apple would team up with more fashion/fitness brands, like they did with nike or Hermès, and open a watch face store for them. It would give users more customization, brands that don't have their own smartwatches can make some money as well as Apple and it would prevent cheaply done or for example fake Rolex watch faces from appearing in the store so there'd be no legal issues either.

I think Apple creates watch base on time piece strategy like traditional watch do.
Why Rolex Submariner use the same watch face since 1954 ? ,Now everyone can tell it's the Submariner .
If to keep the identity , Apple Watch could have their own way to produce the watch face.

If other company produce the square smartwatch customizable the watch face . And many people custom their watch look like Apple Watch watch face . It's feel like they use fake watch. Am I right?
