how can Siri be excited.?.. its just a voice...

If this is a new way to announce WWDC, its better then the regular way, however, unlike Siri, i sure hope this is accurate.

I didn't read it here first. This has been known for a while. Funny stuff.

Yes, the rumors have been flying around. This could be Apple's first hint of officially announcing it. Perhaps part of the conference's focus will be on helping developers integrate Siri into their apps or just understand how it will be integrated into the OS and how the apps can take advantage of the new functionality.

Do they even showcase new hardware at WWDC? It's a dev conference, to me it's a lot more about the upcoming versions of Mac OS X and iOS (and derivatives like watchOS and tvOS) and new software features for developers, not a slimmer rMBP (no matter how I long for one).

If they don't present profound tablet specific enhancements for iOS 10, I don't even care how they'll improve the iPad Pro 2 hardware-wise in autumn.

We pay $100 year to make APPLE money and then they want $1600 from us to pay for their conference too.

shameless.

If 27 cents a day $ 100 a year/365) break you, I guess this is not for you.

If you develop an app and make more money than the $ 100, plus $ 1,600 why cry?

You get ideas, shown things, learn stuff and the list goes on.

A little too much entitlement ?

Yes they might, have done so in the past.

You guys know this is a DEVELOPER'S conference, right? If Macs are updated, it'll be a minor part of the show. It's primarily about iOS and OS X.

Edit: I get it, guys. They've released hardware before. I'm just amazed at the overwhelming expectations of a complete overhaul of the entire lineup.

Mac updates are hugely applicable at a DEVELOPER'S conference. If you develop software for any Apple platform or use Apple tools for development, you're running a Mac almost 100% of the time. For other devices... okay, not so relevant. However, Macs are the primary tools of the crowd at WWDC.

I doubt it, hugely doubt it. Their new campus is going to hold offices. You can't empty out a section for a conference for a week. The issue isn't really space anyway, its people. They can only afford to bring in so many of their engineers to present, if they bring more people then no one is home at base in the event that something catastrophic happens and a huge fix is needed to be put together immediately.
True. Also, not everyone inside Apple or other large tech companies like to work with the "unwashed masses" that some view the third party developer base. I once overheard, "The independent developers are sometimes the worst. If they had social skills and knew basic grooming, they could get a real job."

However, some thrive on it looking for "honest feedback" from their product efforts with the office politics filter not present. Been told that a lot of Apple engineers are only at WWDC for one or two days at the most and are back in The Loop for the rest of the week.

1,600 is steep, especially if you aren't local. Is this average?
If you are not local, getting to WWDC the cost can add up fast. You have the attendance fee, then the airfare (if overseas, international flight fares) then hotel and local expenses. Good news is that WWDC provides lunch every day and dinner at a party they throw with some big act they hire for an evening. I know many from out of town that make a full week of it and spend the weekend before and after WWDC in the area checking out the sites or doing other business.

When did they announce mps?

I have zero doubt there's an ARM build of OS X.

Apple secretly maintained an x86 build of OS X from the beginning, after all. ("Project Marklar".)

Apple has an ARM-based version of OS X, it's iOS.
That's not the right question.

The right question is "Will Apple release OS X for ARM?"

That, I don't know.
I don't believe this will ever happen. iOS is Apple's future. It will continue to evolve, and when the missing pieces (Xcode, etc.) eventually make it into iOS, OS X will be discontinued. That's not necessarily what I want to happen, but it's what I expect.

I also see it more likely that iOS adds mouse/trackpad support than OS X ever adds touchscreen support.

If we're being pedantic about the Mac naming scheme, the chances are it'll be called "MacOS", firstly on this page; http://www.apple.com/environment/answers/ it references it and there have been job listings relating to "MacOS" too.
I read that too.
Doesn't fit the lineup, IMHO.

Maybe, it's because "Mac" is a true name, hence the spelling must start with a capital.
"tv" and "watch" are simply nouns...

So, okay... MacOS 12 then. ;)

Give me a new MBP with a tapered design with 12 hour battery life, and charge whatever you like on my credit card.

Oh I agree. Good point about why they would do it though. Still, I'd prefer it had a lowercase so it'd be consistent with the other platforms.
