Saw it last night. Thought it was absolutely terrible. Easily worst of the three and a movie I wouldn't go out of my way to watch again even if it was on TV.

A couple of stunning money-shots and yet with a cast of that talent, to produce something as dull, soulless and tension-free. Criminal.

Really Blue? I rather enjoyed it. Not great, but not wretched like I was expecting. Brett Ratner is a terrible director. This was easily his best work. :) I just guess I expected so much worse and was surprised it didn't suck as much as I thought it would. I hope Singer comes back and makes another after what looks to be a huge failure with Superman. Cross your fingers.

EDIT: I really did like the scene with Jean and Xavier. Too bad the one with Scott wasn't better. But I also get the feeling that may have been on purpose, even though it failed. And you are correct, the talent should have been put to better use. Write Brian Singer a letter and let him know that we want him back. ;)

Why is it that everyone thinks Superman returns is going to be such a bomb? I have seen both trailers and I am looking forward to it. The main part I am looking for is seeing Kevin Spacey as Luthor.

I've seen it twice now. I was disappointed Scott had no purpose in this film but to be an emo loser. Did it bother anyone Jean's hair looked totally different than it did in X2? I don't mean its length, but it's color was really off and didn't match her eyebrows. It bothered me the entire movie. I also agree that I thought the Phoenix was going to be all firey and sweet! My favorite scene was probably when wolverine was walking to save Jean. Pretty cool stuff. I'm mad Singer left. I also expected them to get more into the character of Angel. He just seemed to be there for no reason. I cried at the funeral scene haha. Xavier is my man. As a long time X-men fan, it's sad to see the huge departure from what really happened, but as a lord of the rings fan I understand the further you go into the story the more the films depart. I also like the numerous deaths- the x-men aren't invincible just because they're mutants. Loved Beast- excellent portrayal. Very real character. I have a special fondness for Magneto/Ian McKellan. Magneto is my favorite villian ever.

Kevin Spacey as Luthor is only one of the reasons I expect it to suck. The rest of the cast seems wooden and dull as well. And the effects look BAD.

See, I think Spacey will be the redemption. Kind of like Nicholson in the original batman movie. Who would you have picked??

I'd have picked someone like Ed Harris. Someone who's actually believeable. Spacey has always annoyed me- a whiny wimp. He's like fingernails on a chalkboard.

It's going to be difficult for me to accept this new guy as Superman; I was about eight years old when Chris Reeve played him in the first Superman movie and that was just a huge deal to me.

But yeah, I'm definitely looking forward to Kevin Spacey as Luthor. Kevin Spacey always surprises me (in a good way).

typing x3, and x2, makes me start to think of megaman x series.

the movie that i wanted to see most is terry mcginnis as batman beyond live action movie. great show, great joker movie, a series that isn't in theatres yet.

i wished christopher reeds is still alive to view the superman movie.

i hated how they twisted the plot of the comics to fit the movies. jean grey never had a dual personality, the "cure" was apocolapse's weapon, and juggernaut was actually xavior's stepbrother and jealous non-mutant that has a ruby.

The comics have so much more depth to them. I've always been intrigued by Xavier and the juggernaut- the actual juggernaut, not the "movie" version. It's very interesting.

I just got the DVD today, and I tried playing it in my PC and the audio is very choppy, its not the speakers I tested an itunes track and it sounds just dandy ... I tried playing it in a few programs and still bad results. My xbox won't even start the disc ...

anyone else having these type problems? exchange?

As I understand it the movie takes some stuff from the "classic" X-Men universe and some stuff from the Ultimate X-Men universe and blends them together (ex. Juggernaut is a mutant in the Ultimate X-Men universe). So the movie isn't wrong, it's just different.
