If the 360 was released and called the Current Gen, how would ALL THREE become last gen? I would think that when that happens the Xbox would become Last Gen while the 360 would be Current Gen. And the PS2 is still current for SONY until PS3 was out and made it LAST GEN.

Damn u:D

Well, the Dreamcast was out that generation as well. By your logic, the Dreamcast would have to still be considered "Current Gen" since Sega has yet to release a replacement (and likely never will...in the foreseeable future, at least). I doubt anyone would consider the Dreamast a "Current Gen" system.

Remember, there must always be parity within generations.......or else the universe will emplode. :p

Well, technically, Nintendo, themselves, didn't/don't consider the Wii a "Next Generation" system. Nintendo officially called it a "New Generation" system.

Also, technically, the PS3 and Xbox 360 aren't "Next Generation" systems, either. They are "Current Generation" systems. A console can only be called "Next Generation/Next Gen" until it's released.

For more semantics, when does a system become a "Last Gen" system? Well, that would be when the first "Next Gen" system is released. example: GameCube, PS2 and Xbox were all "Current Gen" systems. As soon as the Xbox 360 was released, all three became "Last Gen."

Semantics shemantics. My reply was relevent to fiercetiger224's post, you're just being an ***! :p

Nah!! Next step in gaming is to get someone else to play it for you.. or play itself!

As if the kid's weren't bone idol and unable to work on their own initiative as it is these days, now we can design our games & systems to take all the 'hard' gaming out of the video game equation altogether.... :D oh wait Hideo Kojima is already pioneering that ;)

Isn't that why G4 TV was created?

This game was made for those kids.

And that guy was a planner, he planned things!

If the 360 was a more reliable piece of hardware and Live was free I'd say I'd be totally in love with the system. Since I've had 2 RRoD's and 4 total repairs on a system that isn't even 2 yrs old, I'm quite skeptical for the future.

Having just recently purchased a Ps3 I'm happy with PSN being free and I'm also content with PSN's features. It has everything I want...friends list, online play, messaging and voice chat. I don't recall anything else that Live has that the PSN does, other than having to pay for it. /total purposeful negative Live jab

My Wii has been turned on three times lately, once to install the Homebrew channel and two subsequent times to use apps with the Homebrew channel. Otherwise, the Wii has been ignored and avoided. (I've used my M33 PSP lite more than the Wii + DS lately.)

IMO the arcade is a pathetic 360 sku. It's cheap, yes. When you want more, you pay for it and you might as well get a Premium. They still need to cut back on their hard drive retail MSRP as well as the rest of their accessories (WiFi adapter especially). As it stands, I'm migrating more of my gameplay and purchases towards the Ps3 since it has free play over PSN and I have over 120gigs of free space on a 160gig HD I paid $64 for. Charging for Live and my general displeasure with the hardware as a whole (with my recent repairs)...well I'm pretty "over" my 360 right now. Until Gears 2 comes out, and I hug it many many times. :D

Back on the subject of the price drop, I would buy a 360 if:

1) It didn't die every 8 weeks

2) If I didn't have to pay for Xbox Live*

I currently own a PS3 because I can get the same experience with games like COD4, which don't really cost me anything (except time :p) in the long run.

* I could easily buy a PC port (what 360 game isn't ported these days, besides Halo 3, which probably isn't worth my time anyway) for about $10 less, and then get just as good or even better graphics on my Boot-Camped-Mac, with free online.

I'm just saying, if MS can fix those I would be one happy camper :)

I was given a 360 Elite this weekend with 2 wireless controllers, a wifi adapter, the standard 120GB HD (My PS3 has a 320), Forza 2 (or whatever the new GT poser game/pimp my ride is), Halo 3, Bioshock, Blue Dragon, and a demo to the new Fable game. They were also nice enough to give me a HDMI cable, SPDIF audio cable, Xbox Live headset, Xbox Live 6 month membership, and Component cables.

I'll hook it up tomorrow or after I get back from Vegas in 2 weeks and post the depressing yet known news of how bad it is compared to the PS3.

YK

First dibs if you don't want it :):D;) My launch 360 is nearing the grave

for me the worst thing about the 360 is having to drop $99.99 (list) for the wifi adaptor. That's a $5 piece of tech, built in to the wii and PS3... and the online features are the most-cited and loved features of the 360. I can't understand why wifi isn't built in.

And built into the DS fat, DS lite, PSP etc... Either they build the WiFi adapter into the 360 or lower the price 4 fold. What it costs now is utterly ridiculous (but hey I'm not arsed my bro bought us one :D).

You got it!

I'll take the HD, a controller and BioShock :p

So long as Sikkinixx didn't want more than the system (and doesn't mind it going without a HD) sounds good to me.

I'll be in Vegas for a couple weeks starting umm now, I'll peer in every now and then, but I'll be hooking up the Xbox when I get back home. Once I inevitably hate it ill send out the stuff.

Now off to important business, like the Mojito that is waiting for me at the bar.

Ok, it sucks.. I'll say no more just to avoid flame fodder from any xbots in this thread. To the two of you above that have publicly responded. Contact me via pm/im/email.

Also please no bickering over hardware/software or ill not send it to anyone. I don't mind splitting everything up so long as everyone that had 1st say (via public post ONLY) agrees on it.

So far my previous email still needs a response.

Also I have to know you from this forum, no newbies. I want this stuff going to good homes. All the equipment and software says "For demonstration and marketing use only" and does not have any serial/UPC numbers. You will not be able to sell it or trade it in at any retail outlet, doing so violates the EULA they are given to you under. You may however lawfully give away the products. All products carry the same warranty as retail versions. The warranty term started the day I received it which will be clearly noted on a piece of paper from MS that will be sent with the product.

Sorry for the lame legal *****, I just have to make things uber clear :)

Al right, I hit ya up with a PM...also just curios, why did you find a 360+all those without serial and UPC number, etc?

Paying for Xbox Live is pretty lame. I'm with most users here in that I would prefer to be able to play online without paying (MMORPGs are acceptable, simply connecting to something that's free in other consoles isn't).

PS3 is looking mighty attractive at the moment, can play BluRay with it, not too interested in games as they're such a time sink.

Time to sell the Wii...

Seriously, the Wii has good potential, but there are just no good games out there for it besides like Smash Brothers and Mario Kart. :(

A console can only be called "Next Generation untill it is released. after releasing it get old as well as others.

Here is a update of the console wars. 360 is really close to the Wii now.

Their tracking is wrong. Numbaz.

Oh and your sig - posts in the game forums don't count towards your post count. Since you rarely post outside the games forums you won't get a higher count :) and btw I'm lagging behind a whole bunch of other posters. Check Mad Jews post per day count. Yup. And please drop this vendetta. It's getting a bit pathetic.

I just put that in my sig because I was banned once for a month for posting too much. 472 posts in 3 years is way too much. :) It was nothing against you. I just noticed that you had a ton of posts. Before I thought you sometimes were way too negative in certain threads when you could have skipped it. Anytime I said something someone didn't like in a game thread they would delete my posts and others.
