XcelCase for the iPhone 4

The only thing I can think about is that the back will get all scratched up pretty quick.
 
weird thing - there was supposed to be a giveaway of the case on the 22 of december. when this date arrived no winners were announced on the facebook altough their rep continuted to answer questions over there and now their facebook page is gone...

Exactly what I thought.
I was going to create a new thread for this, lol.
They made a giveaway on their Facebook page where lots of people joined up, and once the date has passed for when the draw is announced, they just packed up and closed the Facebook page or something.

People left questions asking what happened to it, but they just seemed to have removed the page.

Strange?

I'm not sure about the Facebook page and what's happened to it, but there might be a slight redesign to the case coming, but I'm not sure about that. I know that I've been in communications with both the head of sales and the lead designer for some time, and I believe they are looking at ways to tweak the design to further strengthen the GPS capabilities of the case. It seems that in a very few instances there are issues with the GPS tracking (as in a navigation app following you) having a slight lag, where it loses location for a few seconds and then reacquires location lock. Plus, the staff has been on vacation from Dec 18th to 26th, so they are probably behind in updating things. This company (Xcel Technologies/Bettinardi Golf) is big into golf equipment (Mr. Bettinardi is one of the leading designers of precise, high-end putters), and we (I'm in the golf industry as well) have our largest trade show (the PGA Merchandising Show) coming up in January, so I'd assume that they are running full throttle getting ready for that. But their customer service has been stellar so far, so I'd expect them to update things as soon as they can.
 
I also notice this, I sent them email on the 28th asking whats going on with Facebook page. I received automatic email back saying they are on vacation from December 18th-26th, So I'm not sure if they just forgot to turn that off or they extended their vacation.

They also removed the Facebook button off xcelcase.com home page yesterday

Thanks for the heads up, but for those customers who are solely interested in their Iphone 4 case side of things.. If they were not registered to this forum and they don't see this post, it'll kind of give them a wrong impression of Xcel case.

Seemingly removing the Facebook page when the giveaway draws are meant to be announced makes them look like they are doing a runner..

But thanks for clarifying matters.
I just hope others will understand too, even if they don't read this post.
 
I don't care if the redesign or whatever. when company post that they gonna do a giveaway and misteriously never post winners and close their facebook page with the contest - it seems very unserious. i considered to buy the xcel case even if I dont win the giveaway..now no way I order from them. good luck with their redesigning! its not a reason to keep up their posts

To be very honest, I feel pretty much the same as you do.
There's this lingering feeling of feeling 'betrayed', obviously not literally.
But it's just strange that their facebook page went down exactly when the giveaways are to be announced.
Anyways, I'm sure they have some legit reasons as to why that happened, and will explain in time..
But for now, they have lost me as a customer too, because the choice list is now trimmed and cut down again :p
 
I don't believe they didn't pick a winner. It would seem dumb on their part and I know they invest in their company. The removal of the Facebook button might be because they run on iWeb and iWeb sucks. I'm sure you will get an explanation on here from a rep..

here are the facts:
1. there were supposed to be a giveaway to 3 users on the 22 of December
2. the number of participates on the giveaway was not so high in my opinion (25 or less if i remember correctly)
3. when the date arrived, no winners were announced
4. when few people asked on the page who won the giveaway, they were ignored altough xcel case replied to other people over the group who were intrested in buying a case.
5. suddenly the group was deleted from facebook and from xcel case main page were it was posted.

now you tell me what do you think.

Don't know then. Did you email them?
 
I got hold of Nick from XcelCase, he said the reason the Facebook page was removed is due to some Facebook policy on the way they did their advertising. He's been trying to get hold of Facebook for days to get the page backup and running to Facebook standards, He can't pick winners unless he can see the people who enter the give away. Just like Nick we will have to wait for Facebook respondes.

the giveaway supposed to end on the 22nd, the page removed on the 27 of I remember correctly and there were respenses from 'xcel case' user after the 22nd...so very very weird that they haven't drawn the names before.

Their website is still up but the item status are always 'SOLD OUT'.

Reckon they're still busy designing an updated version? Afraid that it might be too late for a product release at this moment of time.

Last time I talked to the head of sales, they were redesigning the case to deal with the GPS issues that some of the initial test cases (of which mine was one) were having. This communication was about a week and a half ago.
 
I emailed them a few days ago and got a response from Nick.
