Quick question, I made my XCom2 skip past that splash window and go straight into the game. How do I turn that off so it doesn't go straight in?
Hold down the Command/Apple key when you launch the game

Most missions are also procedurally generated, so no two are exactly the same.
Unfortunately no it won't run on anything integrated short of an Iris Pro.Hey, i went through first xcom on my macbook air 11 with intel hd6000, will Xcom 2 run on it as well? thx

What graphics chip was that machine running?I played it on my Core M3 SP4. With everything set to low, 1280x800, I was pushing maybe around ~15 FPS in missions.
So yeah, it'll probably run, but I don't know how playable it'd be.

That makes sense if it is newer then the Iris Pro. Oh well. It does stream over steam and the gaming pc/workstation and play nicely on the MacBook. It's a Skylake based Intel HD 515.
Though since I only know a scant bit about Intel iGPUs, I can't tell you exactly why it ran for me and not for you, other than...it's a newer chip.

I think that was the frame rate this Mac Book was getting on X-Com EW so even if it didn't crash the FPS would probably be single digits lol.
I wonder if the new rMBP will include Iris Pro? If so, I'll be pretty bummed that I just purchased one. I didn't really buy this thing to game with, but it would be nice to run something like XCOM 2 on here occasionally.
Xcom 2 is out on mac os x appstore. Is there any difference with the other version?
Personally, I have never understood why anyone would ever buy a game on MAS when there is a Steam version. It appears both versions are comparable with the exception of multiplayer. With the Mac App Store version of the game multiplayer is limited to Mac-to-Mac only; whereas, the Steam version provides support for cross-platform play between Mac, Windows, and Linux.

There is no advantage whatsoever, and a few disadvantages.
