They're locked to Xfinity Mobile for 90 days even if it's paid off. After 90 days you can request to unlock as long as it's paid off.

Thanks for the info. I know that last fall I was able to call right away and get my unlock code but I know they changed the rules a few months ago.

Well, all said and done the problem was due to me having a different sim from my old S8 in the phone (My bad) I even found an Apple watch in stock at a local apple store.
