I can already see someone's college dorm in three months. Some 19 year old college student, with his own dorm, and a visitor comes in. "Hey, dude. Why are you in your room vaccuuming? And where is your vaccuum anyways?" 😱 😀
 
Full Color boxes

I noticed that the xserve comes in a full color box, and I am glad to see apple using full color boxes for all the computers instead of borring brown boxes they used to have in the early 90's...I can't be the only one who saves all my apple boxes from every computer I have owned.
 
hahah!

i still have my 7300 boxes and of course the PMquicksilver733 box! Those things could withstand a nuclear war! Apple sure does know how to pack 'em!!

Hah! I'll do you one better - I still have two 7300s, one of which is still in use, and is doing a mighty fine job if you ask me. The other is for sale!! Anyone interested? 🙂
 
Not that loud

They are pretty loud if they are out in the open. But if you mount them in a rack with proper cover panels and close the doors, they're not that bad. You can easily work in the same room with the rack.
 
THE X SERVE

I work at an applecentre in uk and we had our serves shipped in last week. We've got one running and it is just rarse. The noise? what noise, thats music to my ears god'dam.

The X serve will take over the world, in 2003. We will wake up with a big X stamped on our heads.

Mr Jobs, bring one of your x serves round to mine, i'll supply the beers and whiskey. and we'll sit and listen to the x serve
