Ok Dr. Freud, whatever you say.

OR maybe it's just that I've spent 20 years fondling actual luxury bracelets from Swiss watch manufacturers and know what $500 can get you.

It's not like I totally trashed the link bracelet. Why this incessant need to cast doubt on some random opinion? Are you just bored? What exactly are you defending and why? Did your mom design the bracelet or something? It's nicely made. It feels a little light and cheap to me. So what? Get over it man.

I didn't say you're not entitled to your opinion, but that I'd put more weight into the opinion of someone who has absolutely no hesitation of banishing their Rolex to the drawer forever if the Apple Watch were right for them, even if they share the same criticisms as you do.

I think the stainless case with the brushed stainless band looks a little odd. I never noticed it in the promo stuff but I also didn't order one so maybe thats why I never looked into it. I'm not saying its bad as I wouldn't mind having one someday, or at least the black s/s.

I love the look of it, but $450...that's a lot for a band. Damn, Apple. Come onnnnnnnn with the prices. Sadly, Apple know tons of people will buy it.

Looks fantastic. It seems much lighter than the photo I took at the Apple Store? It seemed much more gun-metal and that looks pretty silver in your pic.

Got my link bracelet yesterday, couldn't possibly love it more. Not too light; not too heavy; actually really comfortable; and it's gorgeous. $450 may seem steep, but it's actually WAY cheaper than some link bracelets for other watches.

That is indeed gorgeous. It wasn't on my radar last month, but I just recently tried one on that had been sized for my wrist and it felt great and looked great. Heck, I'm thinking I'd actually save money by not buying a bunch of other bands if I get that one. Ok, maybe the link bracelet and the blue leather loop would keep me happy. :)

I just setup a band exchange to get the link band and send back the classic buckle. Hope I made a good decision..... What's $300 more?

I think you've made a good decision. Now that Apple will provide the "lugs" (or specifications for them) to the "made for" vendors, there will soon be many (some perhaps even more expensive and elegant?) options to choose from. Your link bracelet may be enough that you won't even be tempted (that's what I'm hoping for myself, should such a watch ever arrive).

No micro scratches yet for me and I've been using it since Friday. Typical place to get scratches is the clasp. The flush design of the clasp over typical deployment clasps really seems to help in that regard.

My everyday watch used to be a titanium tag aquaracer 500m, I also have a breitling super avenger which is a much heavier watch and I tend to wear it to more formal occasions. Despite it's size, it's still classy, the tag is black w/ a rubber dive band, so a nice light every day watch.

Why am I babbling on about my "old" watches? Well, the Apple Watch with the link band really is a perfect combination of weight and class. On par, if a bit heavier than my tag and lighter (but substantial) than my breitling.

When I went to my first try on a few days after pre-ordering I was a bit disappointed with the weight of the LB. I thought it was too light. Since then, I've worn the watch for extended periods in 3 configurations: the 42mm SG sport, 42mm SS BCB and now that same 42mm SS w/ a LB. After wearing the watch in those configurations I can say:

1) the sport looked great but it literally felt like I wasn't wearing a watch.
2) the 42mm SS w/ BCB had more heft to it, but the leather band wasn't to my liking.
3) the LB actually has some decent heft to it, felt just right to me after living with it instead of just trying it on.

It's not perfect, though. My only gripes are removing the links if you don't have nails and have big hands can be a bit frustrating. And the edges aren't as polished as I would like. I don't have any issues with the edge of the clasp, but if you run your fingers down the edge, you can catch that upturned part of the link on the end. I don't think it would cut me, but it feels a bit less refined than I would want.

Overall, definitely a keeper and my other two watches are sitting in the watch winder. That's not to say I won't break them out. The tag when I'm doing rough stuff that may damage the Apple Watch and the breitling for really formal events.

I don't know why my phone continued to vibrate after pairing. Maybe it's user error, or maybe a software glitch. All I know is, the watch always seemed like the last to know.

It's likely because there were notifications you weren't pushing to your AW. For example, if you have 2 e-mail accounts and you only push notifications for one of them to your AW, your phone will still vibrate/alert when you get messages to the mailbox who's notifications you aren't forwarding to your AW.

Not sure what issues you were having with notifications coming so late, they have been instant for me (e-mails and texts at least).

I've ordered a cheap link bracelet from China and hope it will be good enough for me. It's literally 1/10th the price, so it seems like it's worth a try.

My #1 concern with knockoff metal bands is the quality of the metal. Not because it could damage easily or look bad, but because tainted metal against your wrist all day long could make for bad health (rashes, etc).

$500 won't get you much, I had to pay $500 before for a replacement stainless steel deployment clasp.

Since getting the link bracelet today I struggled with either a too tight or too loose feel with a single link removed or added back. Finally found my solution, which was to have 11 links on the little finger side and 9 links on the thumb side (rather than equivalent number of links on each side). The watch now doesn't hang outward too much over the ulnar styloid process (the bump on the side of the wrist) and feels more centered rather than too loose.

A solution to those of you who might find yourself struggling with the fit.

You're wearing your SA to formal occasions? When I owned one I couldn't get it to fit under a shirt and having it outside... well... You get noticed.

While on my wrist, not a single notification made it to the watch before I could feel my phone vibrate.

Don't think you had it setup correctly then as if you have your notifications pumped to the Watch the phone does nothing unless it cannot connect to the Watch.

I love the way this operates, example: I have multiple email accounts and all bar one are pushed to the Watch. The account that is not pushed to the watch still lights up the phone display but the others notify me on my Watch.

You can still go to the phone and awaken the screen you can see the list of notifications.

IIRC, that is what apple suggest. To remove links from 1 side instead of trying to balance out the number on each side.

No regrets, no returns! I la-la-love it! The build quality is amazing and the looks... Well, it's gorgeous!

Like everyone has be saying, buddy, if the notifications are going to your phone, you're doing something wrong. I can't tell you what that is, unless deceit, because there is no setting for this, it's simply how it works.

Nobody can take you seriously when you give the device 5 hours and don't even have it working properly before returning it, or, in this case, selling it through the same absurd process you used to acquire it.

Why did you spend so much money and time getting it so quickly if you have no desire to learn how to use it and experience it for at least a couple of days?

I got a very favorable impression of it actually. I know it will grow into something undeniably great, perhaps thru firmware, perhaps in the next gen.

I think part of the issue for me is, I sit a computer all day anyway. I get notifications on the Mac, on the phone, on an iPad, all day. I don't really need yet another interruption or way to connect, especially if that connection isn't in real time.

I don't know why my phone continued to vibrate after pairing. Maybe it's user error, or maybe a software glitch. All I know is, the watch always seemed like the last to know.

This is problematic when say, I'm texting my wife on the phone, telling her I'm on the way home, then put the phone in my pocket. In real time, she replies "Don't forget to bring home XYZ", and I don't get that message on the watch for 1 min, after I've already gotten into an elevator or left the building. With phone-only, I wouldn't miss that reply, and cumulatively, the time saved by not pulling out a phone would pale in comparison to time saved by not missing those kinds of texts.

Yes, I did use 3rd party apps. Twitter was surprisingly fast. Everything else was spin city. Even native apps like weather and maps were infuriatingly sluggish. Again, firmware or V2 will speed things up no doubt, and I'll likely be back.

Someone said Apple suggested removing the link from the pinky side if you want to go with an odd number of links. Did they actually say to do this with an even number of links, which is what I have but with the extra link added to the pinky side?

Extra Link

Does anyone have a link that they have removed that they don't need. I need one link to make mine more comfortable.

I've had a similar problem with being in between link sizes - I'll have to try some of the suggestions here about moving the links around.

I've also considered getting some medical/sports foam tape to place on the flat underside of the clasp to get a better fit. It's not an ideal solution, but I really like the look of the band and want to make something work

So gorgeous. I hate my sport and I cannot wait till June to get my SS. Somebody at work asked me if I wore a Pebble watch :(

Some people have a tendency to leave their phones on after doing something on it - is that you? The watch doesn't take over unless the phone is on standby. Same with all the other notifications on all your other devices. If I'm in messages on my Mac, my phone isn't buzzing. But if you ignore it on the Mac (in another program) a minute later, the phone buzzes. Sound familiar?

If you had spent more than a couple hours with it, you may have figured it out.
