personally after the update to 14.2.1 my blacks are perfect on my iphone 12 pro 44 week .. but the screen tends to yellow even if I realized that according to the light it changes color .. in my opinion there is some bug although the tt is deactivated

What was your black like before the update?
before the update the screen tended to green, you could see it during switching on and if I projected a black screen in a dark room with low brightness but now I no longer have this problem luckily ..

I also have this problem! Can you explain better how did you solve?

Some people say they won the lottery
but I don't think any of them are perfectly white.
Maybe it was just seen in sunlight or under cold lighting with true tone on.
Or it's just a misunderstanding.
Also, I think problem isn't the warm colors.
strong green is the problem.

I don't know before if the brightness was low and I was in a dark room a green tint was clearly visible .. after the update to 14.2.1 I no longer encountered this problem and my blacks are perfect .. but the white curtains still to yellow unfortunately

How did you update it? pc or via OTA? Because I don't know how to go about the green problem!

Don't waste your time.

14.2.1 does not solve the issue.Maybe the friend above changed the brightness so the issue is less observable.

Apple should do something about all these issues.

I don't really understand why there is so such silence from the big sites.

you're right, I am sorry..I made another test .. I put the iPhone in a dark room and started the youtube black screen video and after a few minutes the green tint appeared .. I give up these panels are really disgusting

Read my last two posts. To be honest, you have nearly the same phone as I have (based on your descriptions). I’ve been reading that D65 calibration will be warmer and made for viewing content. This is what I did to make the final decisionWatch a 4K video and if the colors pop more and don’t bother you, your eyes will adjust to the warm screen. Try for a few days, write down pros, cons, and make a decision.

making a decision will lower your stress, there will be times when you will feel the temptation to trade. All these people reporting white screens may not be as sensitive as we are. But trust me, you adapt to it, but making a decision is the first steps. Accept the new yellow tint as a fact (like when you accept that no one is perfect IRL).

finally: let Apple know that we don’t like the current calibration of the screens.

not too much help but maybe a few pointers
Thanks. I'm still deciding if I can tolerate the warmer white point. Compared to all my devices, I mean, MBP, iPhone X, Xr, iPad Pro, Samsung QLED, I mean, everything, it looks definitely warmer.

I am trying out the mini to see if I like it better than my regular 12. I am sitting near a large window and noticed it was changing from a more yellowish to less as the phone was facing the window. My regular 12 does not do this that I can notice. Both have True Tone on. Never noticed this before on an iPhone.

Replace it. My replacement doesn't have this but the original did but not above 65% brightness. The new one only happens below 15% brightness.
My device (pro max week 44) in the very first days used to do it with brightness in between 5%-25%. After a few days the issue happened in all brightness levels up to 99%.Issue is not observable only @100%. Maybe as the time passes the issue worsens.

I installed iOS 14.3 RC2 version and the whites still warm or yellowish. Same as before. Raised black on lower brightness is the same.

I know this has been mentioned previously, but does anyone think the green or yellow tint issues could be related to the Ceramic Shield this year?

It's very unlikely that Apple will make any changes via software for any of this. They've never done it in the past.

I have been following this thread since day one. And I have been following similar threads about yellow screens every year since the debut of the iPhone X. Two questions I would like to ask here.

1. Is it true that most screens (the slightly yellow to moderately yellow) do become whiter over time? (Of course I am discounting the extremely yellow ones).

2. Do OLED screens have an inherent tendency to yellow for a technical reason? I would think so, because otherwise, if as is claimed that Apple relaxes tolerances to meet demand, then there should be many blueish screens too. By the law of averages, if tolerances are relaxed, then there should be both yellow and blue screens i.e. either side of pure white. But I don't read of anyone complaining about blueish screens. Hence my question.
