Anyone notice 12 Pro screen having issue with bottom of the screen being darker?
We just got two new 12 Pro's and both are somewhat darker on the bottom half.
Also some noticeable pink/green tint issue (upper half pinkish and lower greenish) with white image. Seem to depend on display orientation too, most evident viewing phone in landscape orientation.

This screen is getting me crazy. Sometimes beautiful sometimes pissed as hell.

I don’t want to use filter and don’t want to disable the True Tone.

today I make a quick comparison with my brother’s note 20 and it was day and night.

He was speechless at my screen: he has the “vivid” mode on, in natural mode on the Samsung behave like mine without TT.

But Samsung has a lot more way to calibrate the screen, not just crappy filters.

Welcome to the world of pissed off customers.

It’s how oled works. Sometimes can be more noticeable.

I had the issue where the bottom half of the display had a green tint and the top half red. It was most noticeable when the brightness was low, like in a dark room. That was an iPhone 12, serial beginning F17DD, manufactured 29 Sept 2020. I returned it within the returns windows and bought another. This one has a completely acceptable screen, no colour shift and white. It has a serial beginning DNPD and was made in week 44 (November).

Sorry, attributed to the wrong person. The quote came from @0906742 but I can't change the attribution after the event.

Yeah, I know but they are not all like this. My X did not have this issue at all. I exchanged it one because first one had but it was even more noticeable than my 12 Pro.

Yes this issue is worst with lower brightness. And yes both of our 12 Pro are from F1 and I was cursing my luck already with getting always from this factory code when I saw the box. I know from the past that all we have had from DN factory have been perfect with displays and build quality (different iPhone models). Our family other X was from DN and it was 100% perfect, while my X was from FK and it was bend, display not that good and many marks on the chassis. Same was with iPhone 7.

Are all colors produced from DN factory too? Our 12 Pro's are gold, so not sure how to make sure to get DN ones?

All four I tried were from DNP and they all had screen issues.

All had darker bottom and green / pink tint between upper and lower part of the display?
Were those 12 Pro or 12 models?

Three had terrible yellow tint, the other (which I kept) isn't much better and the bottom edge is actually brighter and greener instead of darker like you mentioned. More red in the top half. The pattern of the uneven color/brightness (which is more visible on lower brightness and with Night Shift on) matches up exactly with the pattern of the raised blacks which it also has.

I returned my 12PM to Apple Store Victoria Sq today due to yellow screen issue. Security initially said ‘no returns today, please come back another time’....but I stood my ground given the fact Northern Ireland is about to enter lockdown again.
Refund was quickly processed at one of the three service windows. No replacement was offered and the Apple staff member claimed she had never heard of the yellow screen issue on the 12.
Back on my 11 Pro now...lol but I might try and find a new 11Pro max for sale.
The 12 has been a disaster launch in my opinion

I have seen over 50 different iPhone 12 Pro screens friends iPhones colleagues iphones, visiting Apple and Best Buy stores
My take away is that all 50+ Had a yellow tinted screen with some variability but they were all what I call warm or yellowish
Doesn’t look like there is a few or any with cool or white screens at this point in time
In any case keep calling Apple tech Support (1-800-MYAPPLE)
To report a ‘screen issue’ this is how they can identify it and maybe something happens

Same here. I actually bought AirPods Pro today and returned them 30min later as I could never have the right earbud holding in place in my right ear. I asked the genius whether she heard about the yellow screen. She said no. She pulled out here iPhone 11 next to mine and was forced to admit mine was yellower. She then said « 12s may have yellower panel this year but no one really complained about it and my 11 is sometimes too bright. A warmer screen may be better » 🤣🤥. Anyways I won’t make myself sick for this and outside the screen looks really good. It simply get too yellow while indoor. I will keep it and hope they will soon or later adjust TT settings. Returning it and hoping for the 13 to be better is also lottery, this year hué maybe the new standard...who knows... And I won’t play this game forever and I’m not ready to switch to android.

Where is the store located
Somewhere in Belgium, why ?
Today, I went to another, bigger shop, and the table with the iPhones was not connected to power, so all phones where dead.. Definitely not an easy task to check for those screens..

Here‘s a pic of the 1st shop (it’s a small shop, but a few days earlier, there was 4 iphone 12 on display, don’t know why they removed all of them (and not the 11) but it’s easy to make assumptions here..

From this - I think I’m correct in saying that the green tint that appears on lowest brightness is the issue rather than the “redness”. It looks red because the other side of the phone is so green. If what you say is true and the green correlated perfectly with the raised blacks, both of these issues should be able to be fixed by software update! Not sure about the general warmer temperature/yellow screens this year though. Happy days!
I don't think that points to a software update being the solution at all. Rather, it seems like a defect on the screen that has both of those effects where the imperfections exist. Much like how you can see patterns in the gray uniformity of OLED screens. That isn't fixable by software. It's an inherent imperfection in the hardware.

Doesn’t anyone on here use their phones with night mode on and low brightness eg when in bed?
I’m surprised others are not bothered by this smearing

My phone got stolen so I need a new iPhone
With all the problems with the screen what do people recommend to do?

Buy the old 11 Pro Max instead of the 12 Pro Max.

Yes - happens on all 12’s I’ve seen so far. See images below of mine and a friends and also my post from earlier with how to check it. Please follow that process and check/post how yours looks.

it seems that the green tint makes the other side of the phone look red or more dull. I think the green is the issue and if that we’re gone then fine?
But is this issue you are talking about happening with white images too so that other half of the screen in reddish and other greenish and dimmer´That is the problem with mine. Show most evident when phone is landscape orientation.

guys I showed the famous green tint in the apple store, the technician told me that he knows that the problem is software but if I want we can send it to assistance but some people have the phone returned with the same problem .. I ask for advice, do I send it and try my luck or wait for some updates?
