I had to replace my 12 Pro Max again due to it having Wifi connectivity issues.

S/N: G0NDR Week 48
Screen: G9Q 8th Nov

This one is even better than the other one.
Looks a lot better in person and these pics are with screen protector on. Now i keep true tone switched on all the time. Below pics taken with an iPad camera.

I received my replacement device few hours ago. Serial: F2MDR 29th November (48th week), screen serial: G9Q04 14th November.

I didn’t give him much of a chance, but my first impression was positive. Under the given lighting conditions, its screen was slightly better than my 11PM (of course with True Tone, Night Shift and Color Filter off). White is white, not bluish, not yellowish, it's white. Unfortunately I don't have much time to test, I'll continue later.

Please take a photo in pitch black on 0% brightness with the YouTube video settings in landscape as shown above to prove it. I highly doubt it doesnt have it but if it really doesn’t then congrats you won lottery.

I agree that True Tone is bugged and it's my main issue with the 12's screen. Yes it is more yellow even without it enabled but not to a degree that bothers me.

These are my True Tone observations:

- In a warmly lit or dark room, it is severly more aggressively warm than any other Apple device with True Tone I've seen. Incomparably so.

- In the outside, or standing next to a window, it will generally drastically reduce the yellow tint on the fly and look as cool or perhaps even cooler than without True Tone enabled BUT this capability, which I guess is how it is supposed to behave and is how my iPad Air does for example, is sometimes compromised and the screen will no longer adapt. Once that's the case, the phone will either not at all change or sometimes be in the correct True Tone mode after locking the phone and waking it in the corresponding surrounding conditions.

- Rebooting the phone restores the capability of adapting on the fly, but only for a limited time.
I know this is only semi-related but I think this has been silently fixed with 14.3. At least I haven't had the issue reappear since its release and before it usually only took a short while. It's still as yellow as before in some situations but it doesn't get "stuck" anymore.

I managed to have the screen almost perfect, I have the green/bluish tint, so I turn on color filters and night shift but only a bit and screen is good now even with true tone. I know this is a workaround and apple need to fix this but I have to keep the phone for a while maybe til january so I'm happy now with this workaround.

Hi everyone, today I have been in three different stores, and I have tried 16 iPhones from the 12 series (4 iPhone pro max, 4 iPhone 12 pro, 4 iPhone 12, 4 iPhone mini) all with true tone and night shift turned off. I've made a comparison between them, my 12 pro and my huawei mate 10 pro.

First of all, all the iPhones looked different from each other, and I mean a lot different. It was very difficult to find two iPhones that looked the same. Also, out of 16, only one (a 12 pro) had a decent white colour, but still it was a lot warmer than my huawei (which, in turn, has the same white as my iPad pro and macbook pro). All the other 15 iPhones had a really strong yellow tint.

This is very sad. At this point, I will return my 12 pro and I will keep my huawei for a few more months...

From Carrier EE. Apparently they have reserved inventory for replacement. No stock available for new customers.
I am going to get mine from EE
So you have been having replacements non stop?
What are you going to do now, just keep your current one?

Wow they allow you to open box 16 iPhones? We would never have that here in the official distributor store.
Like I thought, there’s little chance to find true decent white panels from an OLED screens.
But your Huawei also has an OLED screen isn’t it?

I guess are display units

They weren't into the boxes, they were on display. Anyway, yes, the huawei 10 pro has an OLED display (release date 2017) which, by the way, performs way better than my 12 pro display... this is quite disappointing.
