Posting a comparison between 3 iPhone 12PM. Mine is the one in middle which I fee is the warmest. I find it mildly annoying as I keep switching between this and my iPad Pro 2020 on which whites seems spot on(pic attached. It’s not greenish irl as it looks in pic tho). I know it 2 completely different display technologies but I wish the difference wasn’t so noticeable. Also, Will bestbuy honor exchange without restocking fee for this issue?

But yours is uniform. Both left and right one have darker greenish tinted lower half and reddish bright upper half of the screen. Just like mine, sure it is not that yellow maybe but uniformity sucks big time. I'd take like the one in the middle anyday instead...

I wonder if this even yellow vs red/green half screen different are just difference which panel vendor panel is used?
We just got two 12 Pro's and another is dimmer uniform yellowish and other is brighter but non uniform red upper and green dark lower part of the screen and overall more like greenish/bluish tint compared to other one.

How do you find this panel in terms of being uniform or not?

Well I’ve given up and am just using the combination of night shift and color filters. Probably not color accurate at all, but I don’t need it to be, and I find it a lot more pleasant on my eyes. Makes the screen pop a lot more too.

Great, you bought a 1200$ phone with a defective screen and you settle for a stupid fix like putting in-accurate color filters.

This is exactly what Apple wants us to do and they will get away with it saying "This is normal"...

You can't find a nice color without using night shift ? I'm just using the color filter and it looks fine.

When i use the color tint and make the white color match my iphone XR all the other colors look the same. Doesn't seem to affect them.

Really. You prefer poor uniformity over warm tint?

If you put both of our photos sideways and look at them, it is obvious there is difference between halves of the screen, other side reddish/pinkish and other greenish and darker.
Honestly, I don’t prefer any issue. Just can’t notice the poor uniformity you are referring. Not saying you are not right, just saying I do not notice it.

No panel is gonna be perfect. If you don't think his looks good then you won't be happy with anything.

No, I can’t appreciate it, sorry.
Really?

Maybe is not so noticeable in photos than in person?
It is but I guess not all are sensitive to uniformity issues?

Anyway, easiest to see this issue for most I guess, is that you turn the phone sideways and then view black text on white background. Make sure you zoom the text so that there is text equally on the screen reaching each sides/corners. Then just move you eyes from left to right and from up to down comparing the white background. It is pretty obvious then but make sure you give your eye time to adjust to screen. I guess depending on peoples it might take more or less time until your eyes adjust and notice this kind of difference.

On the left image where there is 3 phones sideways. One in the middle is "yellow" one that peoples seem to complain about. But take a good look at the phones on the left and right side. Now look at white "text bars) between different parts of the screen. It is pretty obvious whose "good" ones have greenish/bluish tint and it is darker on the right side and reddish/pinkish brighter on the left (still considering these directions when phones are sideways). One in the middle has nearly perfect uniformity.

Mine is like the left and right side phones on the picture, but I honestly consider one in the middle perfect!

I personally struggle to see that..
I think most of the differences are only obvious in person..

I don’t notice that uniformity issue on my phone either
the warmer / yellowish colour is definitely there. Greys are not as grey as they should be (as they appear on an LCD).

All the photos in this thread mean nothing to me (in terms of screen yellowing) because my iphone 12 is more yellow then my xr. It's a fact, i can see it clear as day with my eyes. But in photos my xr looks more yellow. Every phone i take the picture with it comes out this way. The photos are doing some sort of color correcting to my images.

Question on brightness.

one thing that bothers me is that compared to the XR, the 12 gets slightly less bright at max brightness..
Not sure if it’s just because the whiter white on the XR makes it seem brighter than the yellowish white?
When I went to the Apple store the genius noticed that too and he said my panel was less bright - I didn’t really notice it then, but comparing it to my Xr at home it’s clear.

12 is supposed to be slightly dimmer

OK, I make it easier to see. This photo I was referring to (https://forums.macrumors.com/thread...2262691/page-202?post=29444382#post-29444382=, I added arrows to show what I mean. The middle one on the top and right one on the bottom in this and then just added arrows to show what to look for. You still do not see that?
Untitled-1.jpg

And the "yellow" one is the most uniform. I think this yellow issue it out of proportions, that is just the way camera sees these and somewhat different calibration and would be easiest to fix or adjust. Those having uniformity issue are not likely fixable with any other way than installing a new panel...

The same thing I described above seemed pretty obvious in your photos of your phone.
Using test like above or the way I described earlier, makes it pretty obvious.
