try express replacement through AppleCare. They will put a 1000$ hold on your CC and overnight you a new 12 pro.
Just following up here. I just spoke to Apple and they said that the express replacement is only valid if you go the repair process and Apple determines that there is defect or an issue. Thus this won't work since I'm sure my screen is within the spectrum of "acceptable." I thought it was a no questions asked policy but it's not.

I would try again. Express replacements ships you a new phone overnight. You can then compare. Send the one back you dont want and the hold disappears. Theres a guy in here who has like 5 phones right now all through express replacement

Download apple support app. Then do the chat feature where it opens a chat on your messages. Tell them you'd like to set up an express replacement. Tell them why in good detail, be specific. Say you are okay with the hold on your CC. You cant be without your phone so thats why you are asking for express. Provide a picture from this thread showing how different and how bad some phones are.

My first iPhone 12P (week 41) had a uniformity issue. Left half was more yellowish than the right side. It was a lot more noticeable when True Tone was working.

Bought a replacement (week 40) that’s than the first. Also seems a little bit less yellow and slightly better contrast.

Technically only three of them are express replacements 😜. The third just arrived today. It has the same muddy yellow cast when tilted as the original phone and second replacement. The first replacement is the only one that didn't have that, so for now I will keep that one. Strangely, the 1st and 3rd replacements were the same serial week.

I'll be out of town next week and don't have the time to do another replacement right now, but might try again in a month or so.

They let you do multiple express replacements at the same time?

Yeah, they kept not being better so I kept contacting support again lol. I was fine with the holds on my card, as I intend to only keep one of the phones. Technically it's not a risk to them because of the holds, so...

Do these issues resolve with usage sometimes?
 
The serial number you’re replacing is written off before the express replacement arrives and if you have Apple Care it’s moved over to the new serial.

Apple will undo all that if you decide to keep the original but they are a bit funny about it.

Hmm. I just want the option of keeping which ever is better. Mine was just a warranty claim and didn’t go through apple care.

I had an express replacement coming due to an issue with FaceTime and audio cutting out. It was supposed to be delivered on Monday but FedEx “lost” the package so now I have to wait for another one to be shipped out. Hopefully this next one is better!

Any suggestions on what to ask/say? I connected to two different agents both said it’s unwaivable
