Recall lol, they are not Samsung..I don’t want to clutter this thread with it, but more contribution to this thread would be good. I think it’s affecting the majority, if not all 12s and could mean a serious product recall for Apple. Unlike the yellow display which they could unfortunately get away with, an OLED panel that emits light on full black is not fit for purpose.

iPhone 12 Pro “raised blacks” display
Anyone else noticed improper pure black levels similar to LCD screen? You can check videos like this, better in a pitch black room:forums.macrumors.com
Apple have done recalls / repair / replacement programs on multiple occasions (lol?)Recall lol, they are not Samsung..

I was able to get that fee FINALLY waived after connecting to like 5948284838 different support agents.no you can complain and get it waived. Argue that it isnt your fault the phone is defective and you shouldn't have to pay to get it fixed
Don’t you think it’s default screen. It’s not an issue. It’s how the screens are.3/3 yellow screens for me. This 12 looks like night shift is on at all times. Colors muted and 1/2 the brightness of my XR. Going back tomorrow. May give up.
I don’t. Ive seen good ones in person. Same as every year. Definitely a worse year this year but good ones exist. Because good ones exist, I will not accept anything but.Don’t you think it’s default screen. It’s not an issue. It’s how the screens are.
Mhhmmm, as soon as one agent said no, disconnect. Try again lol. They can do a lot more than people think. Hopefully your replacement is better!I was able to get that fee FINALLY waived after connecting to like 5948284838 different support agents.
God, why do ALL the advisors have different abilities/information? The first few were like “no sorry you cant get an express replacement” the next few were like “sure thing, express replacement on its way and its a $29 fee” And the last few were like “kk $29 fee waived”
Like you really gotta dig to get support...
How good are we talking? Have you compared them to anything else?I don’t. Ive seen good ones in person. Same as every year. Definitely a worse year this year but good ones exist. Because good ones exist, I will not accept anything but.
Compared to XR. Xr was more "blue" as expected, but the screens I saw were neutral, clear, and accurate. No yellow dingy layer that distracts the eye.How good are we talking? Have you compared them to anything else?
Ok, there is hope. I'll try again in a month or so.Compared to XR. Xr was more "blue" as expected, but the screens I saw were neutral, clear, and accurate. No yellow dingy layer that distracts the eye.
I'm thinking ordering online and ship to house vs retail units may be the key.Ok, there is hope. I'll try again in a month or so.
The text is equally white on all three if you zoom in.![]()
Is it just me or can you actually see the yellow tint in the middle iPhone 12? The mini and max don't look too bad though.
But..this whole issue is with true tone off. Let me guess, didnt take the time to read?I think it might be a True Tone calibration issue... I can take my 12 and move it into different environments and watch it get more white and then fade back to a softer and more yellow white as I'm changing environments and lighting; and when it goes more white, it's a very nice looking white.
And I don't mean turning off True Tone fixes it. That makes it way too cool. But rather, how it's adapting to the surrounding environment.
The screen is either better or it isn't. Yellow and dingy isn't better, end of story.Coming from a bright high quality LCD like the Xr or 11 and you're going to think it's yellow every time. If you come from another OLED it's probably much less noticeable or an issue. It might be worth trying for a few days without looking at any of your previous phone screens and see how your eyes adjust. I've had two 12's and a 12p and all three have looked identically yellow, and it's definitely noticeable coming from the Xr... but that's also because my Xr is sitting right next to it half the time as well... I don't know.
