Got an iPad 3 bought on day #1 (but it's a present so I only got it this week-end).

Like many other here, I have some screen issues that I've first notice while using keyboard. This is probably related to the fact that color used here are similar tones to neutral grey! This is unmerciful tons for these problems, less visible on white screen and full brightness. My issue is left half screen discoloration. This is my iPad informations:

Model Number: A1416
Group1: iPad
Group2: WiFi
Generation: 3
Machine Model: iPad3,1
Model introduced: 2012
Production year: 2011
Production week: 53 (January)

Do you think I could get a better model if I ask for a replacement now, or should I wait a bit before going to my local Apple Store?

Thanks!

Wait a few months. Really. I haven't personally seen a new iPad that doesn't have at least some discoloration. I'm talking out of 20 or 30 that I've seen in store, one's I've had, and ones friends or framily have.

Yep, but I just want to clarify that it was noticeable as soon as I turned it on... I didn't have to go compare it to anything. I also happened to be under low light conditions and I could see bad light bleed from the bottom and after like 10min (without looking for it) I noticed something under the screen (hair maybe) but yeah is kinda sucked. Nevertheless I called apple and they gladly accepted to exchange it and even threw in a smart cover. Can't complain

so you called them or took it in store for exchange?

I'm just wondering what I'll do since I can't go to an apple store.

And mine most certainly has a yellow tint, just compared it with my roomates. We both ordered ours on launch day. Hope it's not too late to replace.

Also mine has a custom engraving... no chance of keeping that right?

Also....... no way they would let me ask to upgrade from a 16GB to a 32Gb right..?? haha

I called apple and they are going to send me a new iPad. Just have to mail mid back... But I'll be without it for up to 2 weeks because mine has an engraving :(

Oh well!

Fix yellow iPad

Yes the new iPad 3 is yellow. So jailbreak it with absinthe and install springtomize. Go to animations and turn custom gamma on. Now you can ajust the RGB levels. Mine i set approx. -10% red and -5% green. Now white is white.
