I have been ignoring this thread for a while until today when I compared my iPad 3 to my niece's iPad 2. Especially comparing at night, my iPad is very yellow, which I Initially thought it was perfect before today.

I dealt with yellow screen iPhone before and know how painful it is, exchanging 5 times until Apple refused to exchange.

I plan to return and wait until stores have iPad in stock. Most places are out of stock.

Most people are oblivious to it mate, usually until you see another person with an amazing screen. You suddenly think to yourself, did he pay more? is his money worth more than mine? Horrible feeling....

Well, I've decided to return my iPad 3 for store credit, though I'm on vacation now so I won't actually be able to do it until next week. I'll go back to using my 32gb wifi iPad 2. I'll miss having twice the storage space and the cellular data, but those are mostly useful when traveling which I don't do a whole lot. The clarity of the retina display is largely negated if it looks like a rainbow. The iPad, after all, is basically an interactive screen and if the screen doesn't work right, then what's the point?

I'm not sure whether I'll try buying another iPad 3 in a few weeks/months or just wait to buy an iPad 4, but to be honest I'm not sure the problems are ever going to go away. Apple doesn't seem terribly concerned about them and their prevalence suggests that it's something inherent in the way the displays are manufactured.

I'm hoping it will be a similar story to the iPad 2 when they finally got it right and released less models with light bleed or yellow screen. I'm gonna try again next week and will buy from the apple store. If its not right, refund please;) then buy again until I get a screen that sits right;)

Good luck. Remember to let us know how it goes!

Here's a tip.....I don't care if NOBODY else has an issue....if I do, I'm going to take it back to Apple. I would expect everyone else to do the same.

Finally had my Mom and Dad look at my iPad and they agree the color is off a bit. They see more of a yellow on one side whereas I see it as darker or green. Too bad Apple doesn't see this and refuses to help.

I'll never understand the mentality of people responding to forum posts about an issue....when they don't have the issue.

It's called Cognitive Dissonance; they cannot accept that there are multiple iPad problems being reported by a number of people, so they dismiss it and attack the victim.

BTW - You are aware that there are Wifi issues with the iPad and Apple has acknowledged the problem and is working on a fix. I guess those who have Wifi are less than 1% according to your statistics so it's no big deal.

I just compared my new iPad with one from my friend. My yellow tinting is terrible. You can actually see it slowly turning yellow after 5 minutes use. Thanks for the thread. I'm taking it back to store.

But the problem is, what if I get another yellow tinting one?
