The big phone people do not understand why the small phone people get upset either. I was just stating my preference and why I preferred larger phone and a little phone person went on the attack! To each their own

Obviously you have zero interest in small phones, but for a strange reason you must post your opinion on any thread related to small phones… 🤷‍♂️

Hard to watch the Reacher series on that screen or a movie.
I forget after a couple of minutes whether the screen is small or not, as long as it's square and has the right proportions. On the other hand, I wouldn't be able to unsee a notch, a pill, or rounded corners.

Used to watch films on SE1 with wired headphones, and it was fine. But tablets are better for sure.

I was resistant to larger phones for a while. Even when I decided on getting the 8 Plus, which turned out to be a good idea, I still felt the iPhone 5 was the best phone I'd had.

Since I got my iPhone 14 though, I've changed my mind. My eyes aren't what they were, and I'm hoping my next phone is a Pro Max. I broke the screen on my 14, and am using an iPhone 11 temporarily. Nothing has made me love my 14 as much as using the 11! Those rounded edges are super annoying!

I still have my iPhone 5 around somewhere. I got a new battery for it a few years back, and a Quad-Lock case, and used it as a speedo/GPS for my motorbike. Since I stopped riding though, I didn't have a use for it anymore and have misplaced it. I still reckon the 5 was a highlight in iPhone design.

The SE is awesome. It's the perfect size for a communication device. I'm considering buying one off eBay. I currently own a 15 Pro and hate how bulky it is, especially with a case. I miss not being able to hold and use a phone with one hand. :) If I do buy one, the 15 Pro will become my backup phone. I only use my phone for texting and phone calls (sometimes email and looking up websites). I also use my Apple Watch to send and reply to texts by voice. I can (and do) live without a phone 24/7. I work in IT and I always have my MacBook Pro with me in case I get called. I also use it frequently for web browsing, email, and more. I can understand why a lot of people prefer a bigger screen. Some have replaced computers with phones. Some want to watch movies, play games, or prefer a bigger screen. There is nothing wrong with that! For me, it's just a communication device that needs to be compact, but have a screen and fit in my pockets.

I got my SE1 out for testing a game I am working on. It made my 12 Mini seem big! It would be brilliant if there was an SE1 sized iPhone with the screen covering as much of the front as newer devices do.

I like big screens (55" TV, 2x32" monitors with my Mac Mini, 13" iPad Pro), but the size of the device is more important for something I carry around, mostly in my pocket.

I like them so much I have a second OGSE!

Yes, but these are threads by and for small phone users. We don't bomb big phone threads and talk about how lousy big phones are.

This week, I unboxed my replacement 13 mini because the battery on my original plunged from 92 to 87% in about a month, and I found myself recharging it quite often. (When my wife goes to the USA, she takes our old iPhones to an Apple Store for OEM battery replacement, and her next trip is several months out.)

The new pup seems faster, perhaps because upon activation, it immediately downloaded 18.5 before it began transferring all my stuff. The screen is better as well, not subtly scratched from 2.5 years of dragging my dry fingertips on it.

Not interested in bigger. It would be nice to have a smaller notch and when Apple Intelligence begins to be intelligent, I might crave a Siri that can do this or that.

But for now, I’m still loving small and capable.

and i'm not ashamed to say it. my OGSE even fits inside a tiny snack pack zip lock for protection.
Nice phone! Original SE was my favorite phone of all time as well. Had to move on as newer cellular bands really made a difference where I live. I still have two of them that I power on from time to time. Man that was a great phone.

And I agree with the poster who mentioned missing the phone bumpers. Those were the perfect cases. One company still made some for the 13 minis, but as far as I can tell, stopped years ago. I had an ebay alert set for them for a while but got a bunch of false positives and no actual results for bumpers cases that would work with my 13 mini, so I gave up.

Just stupid massive bezels
I rather wear a shirt without a spot on it than a shirt with a spot on it. Plus, TouchID > FaceID. Imagine a movie theater screen with a notch or an island. Imagine watching TV with a notch or island on it. It's ridiculous. I will never buy a Mac with a notch. I'm holding onto my SE 3 until they release a full screen iPhone.

If all you did on your phone was watch movies you might have a point but you don't!

When you watch YouTube on the 16 pro or an iPhone with a notch then due to most aspect ratios the said notch/island doesn't even cut in to the media you're watching! It's not an issue at all!

The zip lock bag isn't so unusual - if I'm riding a bicycle then I keep my iPhone 15 Pro in a zip lock bag - it keeps the phone protected from sweat. There are some cycling specific covers for phones but they often aren't made for larger phones or they just don't work.

I have a special place in my heart for small Apple iPhones. Because my first ever iPhone was brand new (back then) iPhone 5. And I loved it until in 2022 I accidentally crushed its display, ironically with a stainless steel frame of my iPhone 11 Pro.

First of all, small phones are very pocketable. I barely noticed I have a phone with me back then. And now you think it is a coincidence they have invented Apple Watch? So people don’t have to carry their “ProMaxes” with them all the time🤣

Secondly, in terms of photographic usefulness the small iPhones are hard to beat. Only GoPro is more pocketable and easy to use camera, but it comes with its own caveats like ultra-wide lens which can be tricky sometimes for capturing moments and not having to crop digitally.

Phone sizes and weight nowadays are too much. Unfortunately I can’t do anything about it and decisions are taken in Cupertino, California. So I guess I will have to cope and just go for a “big boy” iPhone again this year :)

Not far from truth! Hopefully for me everyone has FaceTime nowadays so when my 11 Pro is charging I can use my Mac to make a call😃

I guess this is the plan: introduce notch on newer Macbooks, then show iPhone XX without notch (it being integrated into the frame), and then get rid of notch everywhere to boost sales and make people who bought notched jump to “next big thing”😄
