Just got YourTube2, and downloaded 3 videos, but I can't watch them unless i'm connected to the internet, I just get "YouTube videos require a cellular data or Wi-Fi connection." I'm able to watch them if I add them to my ipod library though...but whats the point of downloading videos, if I have to be on the internet to watch them?

Is it possible to sync a video that you added to your ipod library, from youtube, to your iTunes library?

Per a twitter exchange between myself and copumpkin, it isn't possible for it to sync to iTunes. They will be left alone during a sync (won't be deleted from the iPod app), but won't transfer to your computer :( at least not yet...

Have you tried shutting down the phone completely and turning it back on?

Got a response from the developer regarding the YourTube 2 issues..

Yes there’s a sandbox issue that affects certain users depending on their jailbreak. A fix is in the works, will hopefully be out sometime this weekend. Stay tuned for an announcement on @cocoanutapps on twitter.

Wow. This apps developer has access to Twitter but rather than post a tweet regarding the bug in his software which is affecting a lot of users he'd rather just post it as a response to someone on his site's blog, buried in the comments.

I've personally emailed him regarding the issue and two friends have emailed him and tweeted him but have received no response. I'm sure he didn't tweet the fact that the bug persists and there's no fix yet over his twitter so as not to kill any potential sales.

Pretty weak stuff. My two cents.

I love YourTube. It's so much better than mitube and being able to add it to your iphone library from the phone has been a bonus.

Anyway to request for a refund? I paid through paypal, can I file a dispute?

I tried with iSmartDialer because it was bug ridden and there was zero response from the support email address. PayPal only gives refunds if you do not receive the software you purchased. They don't care if does not work.

Still no fix for this and not a single reply to any emails or tweets asking for tech support.

They already have our money though so I suppose that's all that matters, right?

Seems to be.....is it not the responsibility of the repo to remove software that clearly doesn't work? Bound to be a duty of care to ensure more users don't get caught out...especially considering how much it is!!

Well I just filed a dispute anyways claiming what I received was incomplete seeing how the developer didn't give me a full functioning product and has yet to bother doing anything about it after 3 weeks and no longer responding to questions or concerns.

Just curious if anyone else was able to download MiTube from the App Store before it was pulled? Works exactly like MxTube/YourTube and let's you save the downloaded videos to your computer when you sync.

This developer (CocoaNuts) just released a new tweak called 'Mark Read'. I'm not going to purchase anything else they make until they address the fact that they provided absolutely zero support for YourTube 2 and blatantly lied about working on a fix.

Hopefully others will see this post and spread the word that this developer is only interested in getting paid.

Can't believe we're still waiting for an update here....devs like this should be banned from repos....

The issue lies in Favs

Only videos downloaded from ones favorite list are going to cause yourtube to crash. if you find the video in search and then download it it will play fine. I'm experimenting with a way to fix this issue with file renaming, but 'm not sure if it will work, does any one know where the metadata for the downloaded videos is? this could be helpful.

Yourtube doesn't work with i4's *end of*!

You can download videos but the minute you reboot or restart the app, any link to play them disappears - yes they're still there and playable via iFile but this rather gaping bug makes the app pointless!

Exactly...nearly 5+ months on, nothing. Thank goodness that I didn't buy it

It's a piece of crap. It doesn't work.

The issue I am having with this app is when I download the videos at home , on my iPad, because my internet is much faster, the videos just disappear! I don't shut off my device or anything and when I get to work they are all gone and I have to then redownload the. VERY FRUSTRATING.

On my iPhone the yourtube 2 app crashes EVERYTIME when I try to play a downloaded video!
