Unless there's also non-frivolous content in the post, the moderators are consistent about removing posts containing only that comment when they see them.

I took a fairly quick look at the post report history, and saw the most recent 22 reports you've submitted (back to Oct 11). I didn't see any for this type of post. Do you happen to remember approximately when you reported it last, or can you PM me the last moderator notification you received? If we made a mistake (and being human, it does happen), we have no problem rectifying it.

And in general: if anyone sees a "Safari is snappier" post that hasn't been moderated, it isn't because we chose to leave it unmoderated, it's - barring mistakes - because we didn't see it.
Last moderator notif I had should be for a gif only comment I reported. It's been a little while since I've seen/reported a safari is snappier comment. Next time it happens, I'll be sure to document.

Ok... I get the concept of limiting comments of political nature to those who have been active on this site.

That said... A number of posts to acquire the "minimum system requirements" are often nothing more than a "pull my finger" or massive tangents to the original posts.

I often don't post to this site because I simply don't want to get into some weird tangent / argument with some weird individual that's got an anger management problem :)

Point being: Based on what I see in the "100" minimum posts... I'm not seeing quality in many of them.

Again - I understand the need for a policy... but it seems to encourage an "elitist" / "pull my finger" mentality. ("It's snappier!" gets an addition to minimum system requirement of 100 posts)

Just a thought...

Sidebar: I guess I have to target myself on my whole rant, because I just added to my 100 post minimum lol!
Isn't it a tad judgemental and elitist on your part to assume an anonymous poster who disagrees with you is "a weird individual who's got an anger management problem"? Btw, I agree, memes are annoying.

You can safely post (and I encourage you to do so; the more variety of opinions, the more we learn as individuals) and if you don't like the tone of a certain reply, you have 3 options:
1) Depending on how bad it is, report the post
2) Call the poster on it, in a polite and respectful manner of course
3) Ignore it and be blissful; they're not poison darts but merely words.

Enjoy the site, I've picked-up a lot of valuable advice here; also we have great moderators.

The problem with the PRSI forum seems to be that those from one side of the aisle will report the other, even for frivolous posts, creating what is likely a full time job for mods to oversee. The rules here, while fair, are stringent and people aren't really allowed to get snippy with each other without a bunch of reports. You guys have your work cut out for you here, I don't envy that as one who has run political boards for years. I would question if it's worth giving a gutter to those who want nothing more than to engage in gutter political discussion. Just my .02.
