Here's the email I got:

We are currently out of stock :(. They sold so fast! My manufacture are producing them right now and eta is end of the month. There are some china seller who still have these Yoobao ipad case in stock. They are top notch quality.

Do the edges of the leather lay flat on the screen? It's hard to tell, how snug is it in the case?
It looks like a nice case. Price is right too.

At first the edges where sticking up but I worked the folds with my fingers to try and make it lay down flatter and have had the case closed for a few hours and they are now laying down better, I am optimistic that they will lay down completely flat with more time. I'll probably set a heavy book on top and leave it that way overnight to add some pressure.

I received my black one today too. Shipping via US Postal Service was fast! Purchased on Friday of last week, and received today. So far, I'm liking this case better than my Apple case. It (the Yoobao) feels more sturdy to me, without being too thick. The leather (if it's real leather...the jury is still out on that one) feels great. It has all the functionality of the Apple case that I love, but not the material of the Apple case (which I hate). The Apple case material seems to pick up every piece of dirt and lint anywhere near my iPad, and it builds up heavily along the inside edge of the case where it meets the screen. I don't see this "leather" case doing that. I love the looks of this case. It looks really elegant and appears that you are carrying a journal or dayplanner, and doesn't scream "iPad" like the Apple case does with the logo on the front.
As far as not having the flap on the inside edge to hold the iPad in, my case is fitting very, very snug, and I've held the case by the edge with the iPad in it and shook it pretty hard and the iPad barely slid at all, so I'm not too worried about it falling out. Especially since it's open on the INSIDE edge of the case, and there are very, very few times in which that side of my iPad is even exposed to where it could fall out of the case.

All in all, I think this is an excellent case for the iPad, especially considering it's price.

I'm glad you like it. It's a great price for sure and I may have to try it myself. As far as the flap goes , whenever you have it in stand mode the edge is facing down. I would use it alot in that position. Good thing is it couldn't go far. :D

Thanks for the review.

You just saved me some money. No flap = No sale

I can't believe it slips out that easy. I want something that will work in that orientation as a stand. That's one of the biggest reasons for wanting one for me.........

Oh well the search continues.......

I agree that the missing flap is the biggest flaw of the case. I am also considering adding my own flap using some leather or felt.

The leather (if it's real leather...the jury is still out on that one) feels great.

You could try touching the case with a hot soldering iron. If plastic it will melt (don't breath the toxic fumes), if leather it won't melt (it may just get branded).

Sewing leather is pretty hard but with a thin needle and waxed thread it may be feasible to go through the existing holes.

Thanks for the review and the case comparisons. One piece of constructive feedback though - it took over 7 minutes to get to the key so-what about the iPad falling out in vertical format. Would be good to mention earlier.

I heard back from the seller, not much help. I tried to write my question to ensure a real answer, even from a non English speaker. This was my question:

"Hello. I am confused about the material used to make this case.
The description says "genuine leather", but it also says "tumbled
PU", which is a synthetic leather not real leather. So is this made of
real leather from a cow or is this a synthetic? Thank you."

The response, from forceviewer_com:

"The YOOBAO 's description just be as so...
So I said as his description.
But Don't worry.
All of buyers are very like the case. Bcoz the quality is higher than general leather case.
Thank you"

I got my black Yoobao case in yesterday and I really like it. I do agree that the case should have a flap on the inside to prevent slipping out. I don't undertand why most companies making cases do not have a flap.

I would have preferred that the case didn't have magnets in it though. If anything I think velcro would have been better.

The YouTube reviews posted earlier were very nice. Thanks for posting them.

I did notice that the seller on Amazon where I bought mine wasn't listing anymore cases. I guess they don't have anymore. I did hear that the cases are on short supply at the moment.

Instead of stitching I would use shoe goo for the flap.

Thats really too bad about this case not having a flap, the ideo makes it very clear that this opad will slip right the frak out, and will only get worse in time as the case breaks in. thanks for the review, I would not advise anyone to purchase this case!

anyone has seen on sale this other design from yoobao?

Go grab yourself one of these for a buck from the supermarket...its a rubber jar opener pad. You can also buy it in small rolls for lining shelves:

Slide it in behind the iPad and the friction should hold the iPad in there without any sewing necessary. You'll not see it with the iPad installed.

WOW!!!

Great idea. Would like to hear how it works and better yet, see a video review.

I bet a sticky pad would work just as well although slightly more expensive. It should hold the iPad in place very well.
