Ok i **like** these ideas!!! I'm going to stop by an auto-parts store on my way home and pick up a sticky pad and give it a try tonight. I'll let you know the results....

Go grab yourself one of these for a buck from the supermarket...its a rubber jar opener pad. You can also buy it in small rolls for lining shelves:

Slide it in behind the iPad and the friction should hold the iPad in there without any sewing necessary. You'll not see it with the iPad installed.

I bet a sticky pad would work just as well although slightly more expensive. It should hold the iPad in place very well.

Genius ideas! Thanks for posting this. I will try these solutions when I receive my Yoobao case.

Great Fix for the Yoobao Case, watch my video for the details!

A huge thanks and shout out to "ReallyBigFeet" for thinking up this excellent solution. I got a sticky pad this afternoon and hooray it fixes the problem of the iPad sliding out. Of course I had to get in front of my webcam to share this fix with everyone...

I just got my case today. I like the look and feel of case compared to my Apple case. What I don't like is the top part sticking out quiet a bit. I am sure it will go down in time. I'm not concerned about it slipping out or the missing flap. The inside of the leather has enough grip to keep it in place.

The cover also fits better inside my Waterfield Exo case. It's easier to take in and out.

I'm glad it worked! We are big RV'ers and have all sorts of gizmos to hold stuff in place while towing. Thanks for the vid, hopefully this helps others.

I hope I have a definitive answer on the "leather or not leather" question. I wrote to one of the sellers who is in the US and appears to have written his/her own ad in coherent English. He/she states that the case is real leather (oxhide). This refers to the case that most of this thread is about, the one that is like the Apple case. The other one, which I actually prefer as far as design, is "faux leather", noted in the ads. Too bad.

I just looked at the one someone mentioned above in a bit more detail, and it does not appear to be the second style of the Yoobao. This one:

Looks very similar BUT look at the corners - this appears to have just little loops of the fake leather, not the little plastic clips in the other one. So still looking for that one...

already posted this mate.

Spoke to Yoobao this morning. This Executive Folio is not available yet, later this month it will be released.

I emailed them, and here's their answer:
Hi, Bruno,
Thank you for your inquiry.
The ipad case is still not on sale now. we only accept the pre-orders
As the schedule, it’ll be on sale at the end of May
If you’re interested in this, we’ll contact you when it comes out.
Thanks and best regards.

Unless I am missing something the executive case is darn near the same design as the Macally Bookstand and the carbon fiber version from xGear. I tried the Macally and was totally disappointed by the sparse coverage and flimsy top cover. Also the spine where the top cover folds was very floppy, much worse than the Apple branded case and Yoobao.

I think the leather/not leather issue is finally resolved. I chatted with someone from Yoobao just now, and the Apple-like case is indeed real leather. The one with the clips in the corners which has not yet been released is fake. They are willing to do a run in leather for someone who wants to buy 500 of them though :).

And 3goldens, I was just pointing out that the link to the ebay auction that you posted was similar to the not-yet-released faux leather case by Yoobao, but not the same case. I think you can get away with the fake stuff in black, but the brown looks really fake.

I ordered one of these a few days ago: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...610303&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT#ht_5975wt_913

I didn't realize about the "sliding out" problem until I came across this post. With that said, I think this case that I ordered actually has a little flapper like Apple's. It's very inexpensive, and I am looking forward to receive it.

What makes you think it has the flap along the spine edge? None of the pictures show the opening and the ones that show some part of it look like the edge is open just like the Yoobao. I have seen that case for a while on eBay and based on the price I can't image the leather is high quality. If you look closely at the pictures of the inside frame it appears the leather is very thin and poorly cut. In any case, whoever gets one of these please post pictures and commentary.

well if you look closely on the second picture, you can see the "leather" bending and not cut clean like on the corner right next to it

// for those waiting for the second yoobao type check this out:

OK I just ordered one myself, for that price it's worth checking out and I hope it does have a flap. Boy with the popularity of the iPad their sure will be a ton of different types of cases to choose from to fit everyone's desired style.

From the looks of it, the crease for the fold to prop up the IPAD is close to the centerline of the cover, which means that the IPAD viewing angle is closer to 45 degrees. I am guessing this would make viewing uncomfortable compared to the Apple case and it's knock-offs which have the crease closer to the fold. I almost pulled the trigger before I realized this. I've opted for the $12.50 cheapie case mentioned above until the Yoobao snap-on case or something similar is offered up for sale.

At first the edges where sticking up but I worked the folds with my fingers to try and make it lay down flatter and have had the case closed for a few hours and they are now laying down better, I am optimistic that they will lay down completely flat with more time. I'll probably set a heavy book on top and leave it that way overnight to add some pressure.

Ordered mine on Monday from Amazon ($37 shipped) & got it yesterday. The middle of the ride side (where there's a magnet) is sticking up about 3-4 mm. I packed it right back up to return, but will try your method of bending it inward and stacking books on top. That sticky pad looks like a good idea too. The smell is bad and I'm not looking forward to the bits of the interior material coming off all over the place (especially in bed).

I got the Marware Eco-Vue about a week earlier but I like the thin/lightness of this case. The Eco-Vue grip & kickstand leave marks on the screen when closed and I'm just not confident in the "ribbons" on low angle-only kickstand.

I leave on a 2-week trip next week so I need to pick one to travel with.
