We're watching season 2, but having a hard time getting back into it. I don't mind a slow show, but the plot isn't doing much for me this time around.
Yup, that’s the streaming model - designed to be binge-watched. Which is why every episode ends with a cliffhanger - to rope you into watching the next episode right away. But if you take a break they’re almost impossible to get back into because everything’s all about “atmosphere” and it’s difficult to immediately recover that. The medium is the message after all.

Never really paid attention to the book the first time through season 1, but in rewatching to prepare for S2, the book is actually a hilarious treat in an otherwise serious show!

The You You Are reminds me of the show Patriot, which also features a fake book, The Structural Dynamics of Flow. Michael Chernus is in both Severance and Patriot, and Ben Stiller has raved about Patriot.
