I left T-Mobile almost a year ago, and I have been wondering if their service has improved since then. Once I update my 12 Pro Max to 14.5 or higher, then I’ll take advantage of this.
interesting, i noticed absolutely no difference going between t-mobile and at&t and then back again)
We’ve stayed with AT&T since about 2008 due to an old employer discount I still get plus the decent international roaming since we travel a bit, or did until last year. That’s exciting news! I’ve had AT&T since switching from Verizon back in 2007 to buy the original iPhone. They are overpriced but I’ve been nervous about T-Mobile’s network when you’re off the beaten path where I live. I did take advantage of the deal AT&T offered on the iPhone 12 which let you finance the iPhone 12 Pro for around $200 spread over a two year commitment via monthly rebate credits so I’ll be with AT&T for another year and a quarter but after that, if T-Mobile is up to snuff, I’m out. Especially if they’ve got a good deal on an iPhone 14.
yup — much the same in my ny, fl and ca experiences. This was my experience when I had both AT&T and TMobile SIM cards installed on a OnePlus phone a few years ago. Traveled through NJ, eastern PA, CT, MA, NH, and ME. In those areas I generally found both services equal.
Snarky? Yes. Judgmental? No.Not sure how my response is judgmental...
I remember when I tried T-Mobile many years ago when Cingular was becoming ATT and I didn’t want any part of that. TMobile couldn’t set up the phone in their store because the signal was so bad, so we stepped outside. Then I took it to the parking garage and had no signal, then at home had no signal so returned it the next day. So ended up just going with ATT anyway. What you were told about the tower may or may not be true. I have found that more times than not, CSR will tell you whatever it takes to keep you on the roll.
Doing a speed test in their store is not accurate as they use cell boosters to make the signal appear stronger than it really is.
Unbelievable.
I finally went to a T-Mobile store to do a speed test vs. ATT. T-Mobile was 400+MBs whereas ATT was around 80 (specific to this location).
Went back today to switch and when I got home I barely get any data service period! I called to cancel but they said a 5G tower will be up on July 16th. Maybe I’ll wait wish I knew about this lol!
edit: I was charged $30 per line for setting up in store with employee so if you’re tech savvy order SIM cards online. You’ll need to unlock your phone but with ATT is was super easy and fast!

Likely using a feature where t-mo can get two flags per device, even across device wipes and apple id changes. One flag would be 'test drive initiated', so once they set that Apple will tattle on that sort of planThat's odd, so you basically get 30 days of free service over and over?
This is also good for T-mobile. They don't want an unhappy customer who isn't going to stay with them long and badmouth the company to others.in my case it just confirmed I’m clearly with the right carrier for my area.
It's pretty solid in LA metro, or at least it was five years ago. I can't imagine it has gotten worse. As far as 5G, can't comment, though my friend uses them and is happy.I'd switch but for two (2) things...
a) Coverage (e.g., voice, data, 5G, etc.). --Los Angeles metro/county, anyone?
b) T-Mobile can't beat the first responders/teachers discount on ATT.
I found that in vermont, I was roaming on ATT's network with tmobile for quite a ways, though everywhere else we went it was virtually the same. This was my experience when I had both AT&T and TMobile SIM cards installed on a OnePlus phone a few years ago. Traveled through NJ, eastern PA, CT, MA, NH, and ME. In those areas I generally found both services equal.
Yanks will buy more maple syrup with the savings. Canada’s economy will boom!I don’t have T mobile in my country which is Canada …. How is this helpful ??
Maybe I'm not understanding what you're saying here, but you can assign ringtones to individual contacts - just Edit the contact and there's a Ringtone field. Or was the OP referring to assigning different ringtones to the same contact depending on which SIM the call is coming through on?You need to create contact groups and then you can assign a specific ringtone to each group. Apple does not allow assigning a specific ringtone to contacts not in groups, which I think it rather shortsighted.
